Agrarian reform leaders undergo paralegal training

piaKORONADAL CITY, South Cotabato,  Oct. 13  (PIA) —  In  line with its  efforts to  enhance skills and knowledge in resolving land problems, the Department of Agrarian  Reform  recently conducted a paralegal training  for agrarian  reform leaders. 

At the  training held  in  Balindog, Kidapawan City,  Atty. Adela Roden, head of the Regional and Cotabato Project Management Team said the training is an effective tool that could ease the work of DAR at the municipality level and hasten the acquisition and distribution of target lands under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) of the government. 

It also aims to help farmers and farm workers resolve issues pertaining to land tenure and other concerns related to agrarian reform.

Atty. Roden also explained to the participants the list of problematic landholdings and the programs and projects implemented by Program Beneficiaries Development Division. 

She also expounded on the legal basis of Barangay Agrarian Reform Committee and explained mediation techniques that the ARB leaders may employ in resolving issues.

Participants, including DAR Municipal/City Office Staff and agrarian reform beneficiaries, were from the municipalities of President Roxas, Magpet, Makilala, Arakan and Antipas and Kidapawan City. (DEDoguiles-PIA 12 with report from SJSSinsuat-DAR-12)
