Permo Tanudtanud, 56, Vice-President of Perez ARB Rubbers Association in Perez, Kidapawan City, North Cotabato said the FBS became an eye opener for them to innovate, plan, and think like a business man.

“For 35 years, farming has been my life but I realized that there are still more that I need to learn to make my profession (farming) a profitable one,” Tanudtanud said.

Tanudtanud said the FBS taught him the importance of using record books and recording all farming activities to monitor expenses and farm incomes to determine the gains and losses acquired during the farming activities.

But, processing it into pastillas or other by-products will make a farmer P250-P300 richer.

Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer Emelita Mayol, said the 93 FBS graduates have  set their individual goals that they can apply and implement in their own farms to test their capability in applying their newly-acquired skills in farm business management.

“We are now  confident that the 93 graduates will start  engaging into various entrepreneurial undertakings after FBS  developed their skills and competencies on how to effectively market their agricultural products which eventually led them to be more knowledgeable and acquire a positive attitude towards farm entrepreneurship,” Mayol said.
