The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Provincial Office of South Cotabato welcomed Atty. Leon B. Lagundi, Jr., of Benguet, as the new Provincial Agrarian Reform Adjudicator (PARAD) for Sarangani and South Cotabato.
Agrarian Reform Program Officer and Clerk of Board Lorna N. Garde said, Lagundi will provide assistance in resolving agrarian cases of the DAR Adjudication Board (DARAB).
“He will assist the current Regional Agrarian Reform Adjudicator Henry M. Gelacio in expediting the resolution of DARAB cases, effective utilization of case templates for DARAB and prioritizing cases like flashpoint cases, LAD-related cases, land valuation cases, as well as cases subject of compromise agreement or withdrawal of appeal or dismissible for lack of jurisdiction and motion for reconsideration,” Garde said.
“As assisting PARAD, Atty. Lagundi will also be utilizing the Alternative Dispute Resolution Scheme in resolving DARAB cases wherein preliminary conferences, mediations and compromise agreements are conducted and attended by the parties concerned,” added Garde.
After being promoted from the chief of the Legal Division, Lagundi is also the principal PARAD for the province of Benguet.
Lagundi expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and promises to work dutifully in performing his responsibilities as the concurrent Assistant PARAD of the two provinces. (Kathleen D. Sespeñe)
