2nd Batch of Farm-Entrepreneurs Graduate in South Cotabato

news reg 1 pix 1 sept. 13 2016Koronadal City – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently commends the 37 farmers of Brgy. Luhib Highland Agricultural Credit Cooperative (HACC) who graduated in the 16-week Farm Business School (FBS) program to improve their farm production, profit and quality of life in Brgy. Luhib, Lake Sebu, South Cotabato.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II H. Roldan A. Ali said the 37 farmers are the   2nd batch of farmer-entrepreneurs of the FBS program where they were trained to become entrepreneurs and treat farming as an enterprise.

Ali said knowledge on market survey, accounting, farm budget planning, bench marking and market matching were also imparted to the participants during the 25-session program.

“Now that you have the necessary knowledge to become entrepreneurs, be certain that you can establish the best prices for your produce to help improve your income and production.” Ali said.

“The knowledge we have gained from FBS will be of great help to us as well as to the other farmers in the nearby communities,” said Go.

Support Services Division Chief Lorna N. Garde expressed her gratitude to the graduates for being an inspiration to the other agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs).

Farm Business School was first launched by the DAR on August 11, 2015 in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture, Local Government Units and the  municipality of Tampakan, South Cotabato where 27 ARBs from POBUSILLA Agrarian Reform Community became farmer-entrepreneurs.
