The SWIP is funded by the World Bank under the Second Agrarian Reform Communities Development Project (ARCDP 2).


10,853 hectares distributed Publishing Date: Wednesday, August 12, 2009 (03:15 PM) Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Nasser C. Pangandaman (3rd from left) led the distribution of 10,853 hectares of agricultural lands situated all over the country to 5,432 farmer beneficiaries. The distribution was done during the signing into law of the CARPer bill by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in Plaridel, Bulacan. The distribution was the administration's way of paying tribute to her father, former President Diosdado Macapagal for spearheading the country's land reform program 46 years ago.

PGMA launches P1.2B projects in Region III. Publishing Date: Wednesday, August 12, 2009 (03:00 PM) Plaridel, Bulacan - President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo switches the man-sized switch board which showed sites of the P1.2B Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) projects in Region 3, following the signing of the CARP extension law. The projects include 19 farm-to-market roads, 18 bridges and 10 communal irrigation systems in agrarian reform communities (ARCs). With the President are Agrarian Reform Secretary Nasser C. Pangandaman and other DAR officials.

ARMM farmers get microfinance aid. Publishing Date: Wednesday, June 03, 2009 (01:44 PM) Secretary Nasser C. Pangandaman (extreme left) signs the memorandum of agreement between the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and DAR-ARMM Secretary Allen Hoffer Usman (2nd from left) for the implementation of the microfinance program in unserved areas in ARMM. Some 27,000 farming households will be covered in the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, Sulu, Sultan Kudarat, and Tawi-tawi. The microfinance program supports the President's Comprehensive Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (CLEEP).

DAR, ADB seal new partnership for P8.6-B rural development project. Publishing Date: Wednesday, June 03, 2009 (01:44 PM) DAR Secretary Nasser C. Pangandaman (seated, 2nd from right) and ADB Project Implementation Head Ki Hee Ryu (seated, extreme right) signed the Memorandum of Agreement at Marco Polo Hotel in Davao City as they renew their partnership for the funding and implementation of the second phase of the Agrarian Reform Community Project (ARCP2). This project hopes to reduce poverty in 152 ARC from Southern Philippines by providing rural infrastructure and livelihood projects among agrarian reform beneficiaries and their communities.

Mindanao towns get 38 trucks from DAR. Publishing Date: Wednesday, June 03, 2009 (01:44 PM) The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) turned over 38 units of dump trucks (inset) worth P10 million to 15 municipal government units in regions 10 and 11. Funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the trucks were provided under the Mindanao Sustainable Settlement Area Development (MinSSAD) Project. DAR Secretary Nasser C.
