DAR distributes 127 hectares of farmlands in CamSur II

NAGA CITY – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) recently distributed a total of 127 hectares of agricultural land to 90 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) of Camarines Sur II province.

According to the DAR Camarines Sur II provincial office, 42 hectare-land are distributed to 29 ARBs in Caramoan town; 30 hectares to 29 ARBs in Ocampo town and 55 hectares to 32 ARBs in the municipality of Tinambac.

DAR Bicol Regional Director Arnel S. Dizon during the distribution rites of certificates of land ownership awards (CLOAs) advised the farmers to think of innovative ways to make their lands productive to produce more at the same time protecting it all the time.

"If you take care of the land, and the land will take care of you and your families," said Dizon.

Dizon added that farmers have also a duty to look after the landscape of food production for future generations. “Our food production contributes so much for the country’s food security,” he said.

The CLOA distribution was accompanied by orientation on support services and development programs being offered and implemented by DAR for agrarian reform areas.

Engr. Manuel Nebreja of DAR's Program Beneficiaries Development Division (PBDD) explained to the farmers how the programs and projects can be availed of or by them as Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) beneficiaries.

DAR’s Legal Services Division also conducted a 'Legal Clinic' providing hands-on legal advice to agrarian reform beneficiaries in said municipalities and discussed CARP law matters generally.

The activities were also attended by Assistant Regional Director for Operations Samuel Solomero, Agrarian Reform Chief Maria Gracia R. Sales, other DAR personnel and  CARP-stakeholders. (GCBuensalida)
