DAR Marinduque provides support facilities to boost agri-productivity

More than 200 farmer-members of the recipient Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBOs) in Marinduque will now benefit from the recently turned-over farm machineries held at DAR Provincial Office-Marinduque on February 19, 2019.

Seven (7) units multi-tilling machine with implements and three (3) units trailer were provided to the following ARBOs: Balagasan Farmworkers Association in Boac, Bangwayin Farmer Beneficiries MPC in Torrijos, Bagtingon Upland Farmers Association of Land Occupants (BUFALO) in Buenavista, and Samahang Magsasaka ng Puting Buhangin MPC in Mogpog.

Said ARBOs are located in typhoon-proned areas, as explained during the project brief orientation by CARPO Virgilio L. Laggui of Program Beneficiaries Development.

“ The primary mandate of the Department is to distribute lands to the qualified beneficiaries and eventually have their own titles (Certificate of Land Ownership Award). But, our work doesn’t end with that, different interventions under the support services are being provided such as provision of support facilities/farm machineries to farmers”, as emphasized by Undersecretary Karlo S. Bello of Field Operations Office (FOO).

Regional Director Eugene P. Follante congratulated the recipient-ARBOs and hoped that the farm machineries provided would really help improve the agri-productivity in the province despite the climate change. “ The farm machineries provided is under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project 9CRFPSP) of the Department which provide necessary range of services to improve the ARB Organizations’ agri-enterprise and its ability to access and compete in the market”, RD Follante added.

PARPO Isagani G. Placido motivated the farmers to continue improve the lands provided and rest assured that the Department from the Central, Regional to Provincia/Municipall Offices are working hand-in-hand in order to provide the necessary support to the farmers. “ As long as you (recipient organizations) have the right attitude/willingness to be part of the program, we (the Department) will always be working at your side”, PARPO Placido on inspiring the farmers.

Signing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) stipulating the roles and responsibilities of the ARBOs was done prior to the actual turn-over. “ We are so grateful being the beneficiaries of the project, we will do our part to really helped not just our members but our community to boost the production of our lands and increase income through the provision of machineries”, Johnny C. Francisco, Chairman of BUFALO responded.
