GUDIESAN ARB COOPERATIVE receives Vegetable Nursery, Farm Tools and Equipment

DIFFUN, QUIRINOThe  Department of Agrarian Reform-Province of Quirino recently turned-over a Three Hundred Thousand Pesos (P300,000.00) worth of Vegetable Nursery, Farm Tools and Equipment under the Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (PAHP) Project in Gudiesan ARB Cooperative at Diego Silang, Diffun, Quirino on December 23, 2019.

The PAHP program is in alliance with development associated-agencies such as Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Agriculture (DA) and Local Government Units (LGUs). This is one of the thrusts of the Department - to deliver support services to the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) through Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) as a conduit partner.

Vegetable Nursery, Farm Tools and Equipment were awarded to 53 ARBs of Gudiesan ARB Cooperative as recipient of the PAHP Project. The project aims to improve the vegetable production and post-harvest practices of the ARB members of the ARBO.

"Gamitin po sana natin itong mga tools na ito nang maayos at mahalin natin ang mga ito upang makatulong sa paglago hindi lang ng ating kooperatiba kundi pati na rin ang ating komunidad.”, said PARPO II Jess Beth G. Quidasol in her inspirational message during the signing and awarding of the Turn-Over Certificate and Trust Agreement to the ARBO recipient. As a response, GuDieSan ARB Cooperative Chairman Nelson Gambon manifested the pledge of support and commitment of the cooperative for the project awarded.

Prior to the turn-over ceremony, the ARBO members involved in vegetable- production were provided trainings, technical and credit assistance to equip vegetable farmers with skills on the proper nursery management and vegetable production and attain the objective of the project which is reducing poverty levels in rural communities.

The nursery operation will be managed by Gudiesan ARB Cooperative in collaboration with the Municipal Agriculture Office of Diffun, Quirino. HAREN S. MANANGAN, PIO-Quirino
