Preparation for SPLIT Implementation on the Go in Region I

As one of the pilot regions to implement the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT), preparatory activities like capability building of the LTS group was conducted at Sea and Sky Hotel, San Fernando City, La Union on February 3-6, 2020.  It was a Hands-on Training on the AutoCAD Google Earth (AGE) Mapping conducted by the Team of Director Ronald M. Gareza. The Field Operations Division particularly the Land Tenure Service staff of the four (4) Provincial Offices and the Regional Office were introduced to the AutoCAD Google Earth (AGE) Technology and its feature, explored the system thru’ the workshops using actual data and their outputs were presented at the end of the training. Since the region is now land acquisition free or classified as low LAD region, it is not important for them to have such training.  However, with the SPLIT this is useful for the parcelization of individual land titles from computing technical descriptions, to conversion of coordinates from Plain to Grid, transporting KMZ files to Andriod phones among others. The participants were not the young generation but they were young once; and it is proof that there is no age limit in the acquisition of knowledge, skills and attributes as long as one is patient, willing to learn and committed to do the work.
