DAR Davao de Oro Kicks Off Distribution of Food Packs

As they are seated 1 meter apart from each other, the ARBs wait for the food pack distribution to commence

Nabunturan, Davao de Oro. - The Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office in Davao de Oro officially rolled out the distribution of food and relief packages to 855 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in the municipalities of New Bataan, Compostela, Montevista, and Monkayo.

The distribution activity was spearheaded by PARPO I Ellordo C. Gualberto and Ms. Nancy S. Ramos, Officer-in-Charge of the Program Beneficiaries Development Division, together with other officials and employees of the DAR municipal offices in Davao de Oro.  This activity is part of The PaSSOver: ARBold Move for Deliverance of ARBs from the COVID 19 Pandemic Program of the Department of Agrarian Reform under the leadership of Secretary John R. Castriciones.     

The contents of one food pack

With visible smiles drawn on their faces, the agrarian reform beneficiaries were elated to find that each food pack contains 4 kilograms of rice, 4 pieces of instant noodles, 3 cans of sardines, 10 pieces of washable facemasks, and 25 tablets of Vitamin C as additional supplements to the farmers who were greatly affected by the current pandemic experienced in major parts of the province.         

Ms. Lilia Dicnan of Montevista, Davao de Oro could not hide her happiness and appreciation to the office for the food pack she received.  Dicnan said that she did not expect to receive assistance from the DAR, “the government is really working hard to help us in this crisis”, she beamed.

Distribution in other municipalities will continue until all 1,438 ARBs are all accounted for.
