Distribution of relief packages for Davao de Oro farmers still underway

The Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office in Davao de Oro continues to distribute farm inputs to some 215 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) on May 27, 2020 in the municipalities of Nabunturan, Mawab, Mabini, and Pantukan.

This activity still forms part of component 2 of The PaSSOver: ARBold Move for Deliverance of ARBs from the COVID 19 Pandemic program of the Department, under the leadership of Secretary John R. Castriciones.

The distribution was spearheaded by PARPO I Ellordo C. Gualberto and Nancy S. Ramos, Officer-in-Charge of the Program Beneficiaries Development Division, together with other officials and employees of the DAR municipal offices and ARBold taskforce.

All ARBs were delighted to find that each farm productivity input package contains the following: 10-in-1 assorted vegetable seedlings, pesticide, as well as complete and organic fertilizers. These inputs will serve as a starter kit for crop production in order to help out farmers who are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ingon mo na gamay, pero dili ni gamay. Daghang salamat sa tabang - sa wala pa ang COVID, sa kanunay nagpaluyo jud ang DAR sa amoa” (You told us that it is just a small value but it is not for us. We’re very grateful to DAR for extending help as even before this COVID-19 pandemic, they’ve always been there to support us), Carmelo Seravillo of Dalisay Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Mawab, said.

In his message, PARPO I Gualberto said that this specific project is the Department's response to the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act. He reminded the ARBs of the bayanihan spirit citing that they could also share their vegetable produce to their neighbors in the near future.

Distribution in other municipalities will continue until all 461 ARBs are all accounted for.
