Oriental Mindoro farmers receive relief packs from DAR
A total of seven hundred ninety-five (795) agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) from Oriental Mindoro happily received their relief packs from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) under “The PaSSOver: ARBold Move for Deliverance of our Farmers from the COVID-19 Pandemic”.
Each ARBs received a pack containing 4 kilos rice, 5 canned sardines, 2 pcs 250 grams seaweed noodles, 20 tablets of vitamin C, 4 pcs washable face masks and a bar of seaweed bath soap, seaweed being one of the major products in the area.
Brigido Francisco, Jr., a 39-year-old ARB from Roxas, Oriental Mindoro and a member of the Hanunuo Mangyan tribe, expressed his gratefulness to the DAR for the relief package he received for his family.
"Malaking tulong po ang inyong hatid sa amin. Sapat na po ito para sa amin sa loob ng isang linggo, dagdag pantawid-gutom ng aking pamilya. Nawa'y matapos na ang krisis na kinakaharap natin," Francisco said.
"One of the major components of the project is to provide food for the ARBs to help mitigate the effects of the pandemic to their families. We also provided non-food products like vitamin C, bath soaps and face masks to help them improve their health and maintain hygiene," said OIC-Chief of Program Beneficiaries Development Lima A. Turano.
Turano stressed that the beneficiaries of the relief packs are those who have not yet received social amelioration or food assistance programs from other agencies.
"Our field personnel ensured that we reached those families who are really in need at this time of crisis. And we also ensured that DAR personnel followed strictly to health protocols during the distribution process, particularly the wearing of face masks, protective shields, frequent hand washing, sanitation, and social distancing," she said.
"It is a good feeling that we are able to help our farmers in these difficult times. There is more to come for our farmers as we roll out the ARBOld Move project in the following weeks," Turano said.
Mga magsasaka sa Oriental Mindoro tumanggap ng relief packs mula sa DAR
May kabuuang 795 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) ang masayang tumanggap ng mga relief packs mula sa Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) sa ilalim ng proyektong "The PaSSOver: ARBOld Move for Deliverance of our Farmers from the Covid-19 Pandemic."
Ang bawat ARB ay tumanggap ng relief packs na naglalaman ng 4 na kilong bigas, 5 sardinas, 2 pakete ng 250 grams seaweed noodles, 20 tabletang vitamin C, 4 washable face masks at isang baretang seaweed bath soap. Ang seaweed ay isa pangunahing produkto ng Oriental Mindoro.
Si Brigido Francisco,Jr., isang 39-taong gulang na ARB mula sa Roxas, Oriental Mindoro at nabibilang sa tribo ng Hanunuo Mangyan, ay malugod na nagpasalamat sa DAR sa natanggap na relief pack para sa kanyang pamilya.

"Isa sa layunin ng proyekto ay magbigay ng makakain sa mga ARBs upang maibsan ang epekto ng pandemya sa kani-kanilang pamilya. Nagbigay din kami ng iba pang mga produkto gaya ng vitamin C, sabong pampaligo at mga face masks upang lumakas ang kanilang resistensya at mapanatili ang kalinisan laban sa mikrobyo," sabi ni OIC-Chief ng Program Beneficiaries Development Lima A. Turano.
Sinabi ni Turano na ang mga tumanggap ng relief packs ay ang mga ARBs na hindi pa nakatatanggap ng ayuda mula sa social amelioration program ng pamahalaan.
"Sinigurado ng aming mga field personnel na makarating ang mga relief packs sa mga pamilyang higit na nangangailangan sa panahong ito ng krisis. Sinigurado din namin na ang mga empleado ng DAR ay sumusunod sa mga patakarang pangkalusugan gaya ng pagsusuot ng face masks, protective shields, paghuhugas ng kamay at social distancing," sabi ni Turano.
"Napakasarap ng pakiramdam na kami ay nakatutulong sa mga magsasaka sa panahon ng paghihirap na ito. Marami pang ayudang maaasahan ang mga ARBs sa pagpapatupad ng proyektong ARBold Move sa mga susunod pang mga linggo," sabi ni Turano.
