Lanao del Norte coco farmers' group receives processing machines

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has given a farmers' group in Lanao del Norte greater opportunities to enhance their living condition after turning over last November 4, farm machinery and equipment under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Program (CRFPSP).

Lanao del Norte provincial agrarian reform program officer Rushdi Mindalano said two coco pressers and a grater machine were delivered to the Mahayahay Small Coconut Farmers’ Organization (MSCFO), an agrarian reform beneficiaries' organization based in the town of Maigo. He wished its members success in their coconut processing enterprise.

Mindalano explained that the CRFPSP seeks to make farmer-beneficiaries more capable of confronting the challenges posed by climate change by providing farm machinery and equipment through the agrarian reform beneficiaries ' organizations (ARBOs).

DAR Secretary, Bro. John Castriciones, said the CRFPSP seeks to boost the capability of members of ARBOs, maximize the potentials of their farms, double their production, and increase their income.

MSCFO chairperson Desizen Culanag thanked the DAR for the equipment. She said: “This equipment will keep our group become stronger and united.”

Witnessing the simple turnover ceremonies were Mahayahay Barangay Chairperson Jerry Culanag, Almelyn Paran of the Department of Trade and Industry, Maigo municipal agrarian reform program officer Marifi Ismael, and some DAR Lanao del Norte staff.

Nagkaroon ng mas magandang oportunidad ang isang grupo ng mga magsasaka na paunlarin ang kanilang kabuhayan makaraang bahaginan ito ng Kagawaran ng Repormang Pansakahan ng mga kagamitang sa pagpo-proseso ng mga ani nito.

Sinabi ni Lanao del Norte provincial agrarian reform program officer Rushdi Mindalano na dalawang coco pressers at isang grater machines ang ibinahagi sa Mahayahay Small Coconut Farmers’ Organization (MSCFO), isang agrarian reform beneficiaries' organization sa bayan mg Maigo, sa ilalim mg Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Program (CRGPSP).

Ipinaliwanag ni Mindalano na ang proyekting CRFPSP ay naglalayong palakasin ang kakayahan ng mga magsasaka na harapin ang mga hamon dulot ng pagbabago-bago ng panahon o klima sa pamamagitan ng pagkakaloob ng mga gamit sa pagsasaka at pagpo-proseso ng mga ani sa tulong ng mga agrarian reform beneficiaries ' organizations (ARBOs).

Ayon kay DAR Kalihim, Bro. John Castriciones, layunin ng CRFPSP na patatagin ang mga samahan ng mga magsasaka, palaguin ang pagsasaka, paramihin ang kanilang mga ani, at pataasin ang kanilang kita.

Nagpasalamat naman ang taga-pangulo ng MSCFO na si Desizen Culanag sa DAR sa mga ibinahagi nitong mga gamit pagsasaka. Sabi pa niya: "Malaking tulong ang mga ito sa pagpapatatag at pagbibigkis sa aming samahan."
