DAR doles out relief packs and distributes CLOAs in Region 02

TUGUEGARAO CITY – Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Atty. John R. Castriones has initiated the generation of assistance from Central/Regional/Provincial Offices in the form of 1,100 pailed packages for the affected agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs), regular employees and service personnel by Typhoon Ulysses during the launching of “DAR to DOOR: Tulong-tulong sa Pagbangon” program in Cagayan and Isabela held on November 21-22, 2020.

During these trying times and in the spirit of “Bayanihan”, through Bureau of Agrarian Legal Assistance (BALA) Director Atty. Marjorie P. Ayson and Administrative Service (ADSERV) Director Atty. Cupido Gerry Asuncion, the whole team went to far-flung barangays in Enrile, Solana, Amulung and Alcala, Cagayan to distribute 570 relief packs and food packs to affected ARBs by Typhoon Ulysses.

BALA Director Ayson in her speech, mentioned the DAR’s programs to all ARBs present namely: Climate Resilient farm Productivity Support Project (CRFPSP), Block Farming, Linking Smallholder Farmers to Markets with Microfinance (LinkSFarMM) Project, ARB Housing program in Nueva Vizcaya.

 “The relief operation is an initiative of Agrarian Reform Secretary Castriciones and other key Officials. These are result of “labour of love” – Ayson said.

According to ADSERV Director Asuncion, the Department is not only giving land titles to the landless but also providing support services.

 “In order to improve the lives of the ARBs, farmers need to become members of the agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organizations (ARBOs) – Asuncion stressed.

During the relief operation, the team, simultaneously distributed 88 Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) with an area of 77.6681 hectares of agricultural lands to ARBs in the province of Cagayan.

 Cagayan Valley Regional Director Samuel S. Solomero extended his heartfelt appreciation for the gestures and concern of the Top Management led by Brother John R. Castriones.

 The following day, the same team, together with the delegates from Regional and Provincial Offices proceeded to Sto. Tomas and San Pablo, Isabela to distribute 330 pailed packages from DAR Central Office to affected ARBs by Typhoon Ulysses.

Mayor Miguel Decena of Enrile, Cagayan, Vice-Mayor Meynard “Jojo” Carag of Solana, Cagayan, Mayor Elpidio Lidon of Amulung, Cagayan, Municipal Administrator Mr. Amado P. Talawe of Sto. Tomas and Vice-Mayor Antonio Jose T. Miro III of San Pablo, Isabela showed their warm welcome and expressed their deepest appreciation for all the efforts and concerns of the DAR to all ARBs in the two provinces affected by the flood and typhoon Ulysses.

Daravides  both from Philippine Army, Philippine National Police, RCAO Pearl Garcia of DAR-Cordillera Autonomous Region and staff, CARPOs Jenalyn Baleva, Peter Barasi, Nestor Gonzaga, Cristeto Acoba, David Villanueva, MARPOs Edgar Cordova, Melvida Camayang, Numerico Tumbali, Luthgarda Sibbaluca, Marirose Camonayan, Melinda Ligas and other staff from Central, Regional and Provincial Offices, agrarian reform beneficries (ARBs), regular employees and service personnel affected by Typhoon Ulysses during the launching of “DAR to DOOR: Tulong-tulong sa Pagbangon" program in these provinces.
