As part of the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development and Sustainability Program (ARBDSP) being implemented to benefit the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries of the region, a virtual meeting with 22 selected Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) was conducted on December 3, 2020.  It was an Agri-Credit Consultation Meeting with an Orientation on the Assistance to Restore and Install Sustainable Enterprises for Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries and Small Farm Holders (ARISE) by Ms. Preciosa Osit of the Bureau of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development (BARBD) Central Office.  However, 12 ARBOs from Ilocos Norte was not able to attend due to the lockdown status of Laoag City (MECQ) due to the pandemic brought by Covid 19.

The meeting was a venue to discuss the concerns and problems of the ARBOs regarding the status of their loan proposals and the documentary requirements needed to avail the credit programs whether through the CAP-PBD, APCP, ARISE among others. The ARBOs were represented by their Chairpersons and Managers while DAR was represented by the CARPOs of Program Beneficiaries Development and the Point Persons.  And it was spearheaded by the Field Operations Division (FOD) of the Regional Office headed by CARPO Nenita C. Madriaga with RCAO Nestor T. Pagaduan and Point Persons Emeraldlyn Balanon and Relina Claire Lang-ay.

It was a fruitful meeting.  At least 3 ARBOs were convinced to avail of the credit program and the status of their loan application at Land Bank of the Philippines was followed up. This is just a part of the outlined activities to increase the awareness on credit programs and microfinance services for the ARBs.

The FOD spearheaded the meeting under the leadership of CARPO Nenita C. Madriaga.
