Coron, Palawan - Agrarian Reform Secretary Brother John Castriciones distributed here a total of 9.7 hectares of agricultural lands to eight (8) agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in Barangay Guadalupe through a personalized Serbisyong DAR-to-Door program of the Department of Agrarian Reform ((DAR).

Serbisyong DAR-to-Door is a program of the department where Brother John personally delivers the certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) right at the farm or at the doorsteps of the recipients.

Brother John said they do this service to bring the government to farmers’ household so that they would feel that this administration is on their side.

“We visit various far-flung communities to give hope to the farmers. To show them that if we can personally deliver the land titles they’ve been dreaming of for many years, we can do more to make their lands become more productive,” Brother John said.

The Secretary is accompanied by other DAR top officials from central, regional, and provincial offices to show their full support to this program.

Support Services Office Undersecretary Emily Padilla advised the new landowners that they should join farmers’ organizations or cooperatives to quickly receive various support services from the government.

“The government’s support are in the form of access to credit facilities, farm inputs and machineries, training and seminar, among others, and you would quickly benefit from them when you join organizations,” Padilla said.

Palawan Congressman Franz Alvarez said that his office is open for ARB's concerns whenever they need the local government’s help.

“All I ask of you is to maximize the use of these lands, and do not be tempted to sell them,” he added.

The farmer-recipients of the program include Liverinda Zabalo,Luis Zabalo, Leonardo Zabalo, Bienvenido Zabalo, Damian Apolinario,Edwin Alarcon, Romualdo Bautista and Engracita Wab.

The emotional Engracita Wab thanked the DAR for the blessings that she received because she had been tilling the land for many years uncertain if the property would become hers.

“From now on I will never be scared that this land would be taken away from me. Thank you very much for what you have done to us,” Wab said.

Coron, Palawan - Namahagi si Agrarian Reform Secretary Brother John Castriciones dito ng kabuuang 9.7 ektaryang lupa sa walong (8) agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) ng Barangay Guadalupe sa pamamagitan ng personal na pamamahagi sa ilalim ng programang Serbisyong DAR-to-Door ng Department of Agrarian Reform ((DAR).

Ang Serbisyong DAR-to-Door ay programa ng ahensiya kung saan personal na inihahatid ni Brother John ang certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) sa mismong bukirin o pamamahay ng mga magsasakang tatanggap ng lupa.

Ayon kay Brother John ginagawa niya ang serbisyong ito upang ilapit ang pamahalaan sa pamamahay ng magsasaka upang maramdaman nila na ang administrasyon ay nasa kanilang panig.

“Binibisita namin ang mga malalayong komunidad upang magbigay pag-asa sa mga magsasaka. Upang ipakita sa kanila na kung maihahatid namin ng personal ang mga titulong matagal na nilang minimithi, marami tayong magagawa upang gawing mas produktibo ang mga lupaing ito,” ani Brother John.

Ang Kalihim ay sinamahan ng iba pang matataas na opsiyal ng DAR mula sa central, regional at provincial office upang ipakita ang kanilang buong suporta sa programa.

Pinayuhan ni Support Services Office Undersecretary Emily Padilla ang mga mga bagong may-ari ng lupa na sumapi sila sa mga organisasyon o kooperatiba ng mga magsasaka upang agaran nilang matanggap ang iba’t ibang suporta mula sa pamahalaan.

“Ang mga suporta mula sa pamahalaan ay tulad ng pagkakaroon ng daan sa mga pasilidad sa pautang, mga gamit pang-sakahan at makinarya, pagsasanay at seminar, at iba pa; at mabilis ninyo itong mapapakinabangan kung kayo ay sasapi sa mga organisasyon,” ani Padilla.

Sinabi rin ni Palawan Congressman Franz Alvarez na ang kanyang opisina ay bukas para sa mga ARBs kung sakaling kailanganin nila ang tulong ng lokal na pamahalaan.

“Ang pakiusap ko lang sa inyo ay palaguin ng husto ang lupa at huwag kayong matutuksong ibenta ang mga ito,” aniya.

Ang mga magsasakang tumanggap ng lupa sa ilalim ng programa ay sina Liverinda Zabalo,Luis Zabalo, Leonardo Zabalo, Bienvenido Zabalo, Damian Apolinario,Edwin Alarcon, Romualdo Bautista and Engracita Wab.

Nagpasalamat sa DAR ang luhaang si Engracita Wab dahil sa biyayang tinanggap, dahil aniya, ilang taon na niyang tinatamnan ang lupa ng walang kasiguraduhan kung mapapasakanya ito.

“Mula ngayon ay hindi na ako matatakot na mawala sa akin ang lupaing ito. Maraming salamat sa DAR sa ginawa nilang ito sa amin,” pagtatapos ni Wab.
