MASBATE – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has turned over the Aqua Miaga Purified Drinking Water Refilling Station to serve as an additional source of income of members of the Miaga Pag-Asa ARC Cooperative (MPARCC) here in Barangay Miaga, Uson, Masbate.

DAR-Masbate provincial agrarian reform program officer-in-charge Herald R. Tambal said the project, which is being implemented under the Convergence on Livelihood Assistance for Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Project (CLAAP), is worth P900,00.0 and would benefit at least 40 agrarian reform beneficiary (ARB)-members of the MPARCC.

Tambal said the CLAAP was created in line with the thrusts and direction of DAR Secretary Brother John R. Castriciones to implement programs and projects to help farmers retain their Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs), maintain their farming activities, and enjoy the economic benefits because of taking care of their awarded lands.

“CLAAP assists the farmers increase their access to economic opportunities through the assistance of line departments and utilizes the ARB households as the focal point for the implementation of agrarian reform program,” Tambal said.

Tambal also encouraged the ARBs to strengthen their agrarian reform beneficiary organizations (ARBOs) through capacity-building and attending training to develop their skills on the latest farming technologies, community organizing, financial operation, and management of livelihood micro enterprises activities.

He also noted that the DAR will also provide ARBs and other small-holder farmers in Masbate with seed funds that would enable them to start and develop livelihood micro enterprises.

MASBATE – Ipinagkaloob ng Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), sa tulong ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang Aqua Miaga Purified Drinking Water Refilling Station bilang dagdag na mapagkukuhanan ng kita ng mga miyembro ng Miaga Pag-Asa ARC Cooperative (MPARCC) dito sa barangay Miaga, Uson, Masbate.

Ayon kay DAR-Masbate provincial agrarian reform program officer-in-charge Herald R. Tambal, ang proyekto, na ipinapatupad sa ilalim ng Convergence on Livelihood Assistance for Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Project o CLAAP, ay nagkakahalaga ng P900,000.00 at mahigit sa 40 miyembro ng MPARCC ang makikinabang dito.

Sinabi ni Tambal na ang CLAAP ay base sa direktiba at mandato ni DAR Secretary Brother John R. Castriciones, kung saan iniutos niya ang pagpapatupad ng mga programa at proyekto na naglalayong makatulong sa mga magsasaka upang mapanatili nilang hawak ang kanilang mga Certificates of Landownership Award (CLOAs), maipagpatuloy ang kanilang mga gawain sa bukid at matamasa ang benepisyong pang-ekonomiya dahil sa pag-aalaga nila ng natanggap nilang lupa.

“Ang CLAAP ay tumutulong sa mga magsasaka upang madagdagan ang kanilang pag-access sa mga opotunidad na mapaunlad ang kanilang pang-ekonomiyang katayuan sa pamamagitan ng tulong mula sa mga ahensyang katuwang ng DAR at ang proyektong ito ay nakatuon sa pamilya ng mga ARBs para sa pagpapatupad ng programang repormang agraryo,” ayon kay Tambal.

Hinikayat din ni Tambal ang mga ARBs na palakasin ang kanilang agrarian reform beneficiary organizations (ARBOs), sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalakas ng kanilang mga kakayahan at pagdalo sa mga training upang madagdagan ang kanilang mga kaalaman tungkol sa mga bagong teknolohiya sa pagsasaka, pag-oorganisa, operasyong pang-pinansyal, at pamamahala ng mga maliliit na proyektog pang-kabuhayan.

Sinabi din niya na ang DAR ay magkakaloob sa mga ARBs at sa iba pang magsasaka sa Masbate ng pondo na makatutulong sa kanila upang makapagsimula at magsagawa ng iba’t-ibang proyektong pang-kabuhayan.

Naroon din sa nasabing pagtitipon sina Jaime T. Solana, bilang kinatawan ni Brgy. Chairman Alme Muaña, Raymund B. Cuazon mula sa DSWD; hepe ng DAR provincial office Floro A. Espares, at iba pang mga kinatawan mula sa DAR, DSWD at lokal na pamahalaan ng Masbate.
