Farmer-groups receive P3.8-M financial livelihood grant

Rosario Samahang Nayon Multi-Purpose Cooperative (RSNMPC) of Las Nieves, receives financial livelihood grant assistance for their proposed multi-passer rice mill amounting to Php972,500-million from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) under its DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP).

Six (6) Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) in Agusan del Norte assisted by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) of Agusan del Norte received a grant livelihood assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) under its Integrated Livelihood Program (DOLE-ILP).

PARPO II Andre B. Atega, CESO V, said that through the joint effort of DAR and DOLE, the said ARBOs will use the grant amount to purchase the needed equipment and initial materials for the organization’s proposed enterprise projects.

We are glad that through DOLE’s-ILP program, we paved new opportunities to advance the business enterprises of some ARB organizations, which hopefully will uplift the lives of the ARB members,” PARPO II Atega added.

DOLE Provincial Head Keith C. Duran said that DOLE-ILP released a total of PhP3.8-Million for its livelihood project to benefit more than a thousand of ARBs in Butuan City, Las Nieves and Jabonga.

The recepient ARBOs include the Pinamanculan-Dalingdingan Irrigators Association (PIDA-IA) and De Oro Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (DARBECO) both in Butuan City have received P1-Million and P960,650.00, respectively.

Meanwhile, the Rosario Samahang Nayon Multi Purpose Cooperative (RSNMPC) of Las Nieves town and Bangayan Lakeview Association ARB Cooperative (BLARB-C) of Jabonga town also received P972,500 and P853,488, respectively.

“Part of our on-going partnerships is the continuous provision of grant assistance for livelihood programs of various agrarian reform communities in the province,” Duran added.

Ellen J. Torralba, head of the Program Beneficiaries Development Division (PBDD) at DAR-ADN said that the startup capital aims to enhance the target groups’ economic activities and income through their identified and selected enterprise.

According to DAR-DOLE Point person Marlyn Negrido, the selected enterprise included Multi-Pass Rice Mill for PIDA-IA and RSNMPC and Water-Refilling Station for DARBECO and BLARB-C.

Reynaldo S. Aganap, Chair of RSNMPC, thanked the DAR and DOLE-ILP for the project. “These projects will bring positive impact on the lives of many farmers,” he expressed.
