164 ARBs receive titles from DAR

164 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) from the municipalities of Naguilian, Bagulin, San Gabriel and City of San Fernando, La Union convened at Naguilian Central School at Brgy. Ortiz, Naguilian on Thursday to receive their Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) from  the Department of Agrarian Reform – La Union.

The CLOA distribution covered 136.9591 hectares with 105 CLOAs, both collective and individual.

Atty. Emily O. Padilla, Undersecretary for Support Services Office and USEC for Policy, Planning and Research Office Virginia N. Orogo together with Regional Director Primo Lara, Assistant Regional Director for Admin Maria Ana B. Francisco and Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Christianne C. Suguitan led in the distribution.

 In her message, USEC Padilla emphasized that land distribution is “the centerpiece or flagship program” of DAR. She pointed out that land ownership (of the beneficiaries) is part of social justice and encouraged them to develop their lands towards economic justice. She also emphasized that the farmers are among the heroes of the nation.

Further, she stressed on the importance of membership to organization, enrollment to the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture as well as the various programs of the department.

Also present during the distribution were Mayor Neri Flores of Naguilian, Mayor Herminigildo Velasco of San Gabriel and Fr. Benjie N. Rullepa, PARCCOM National President.
