Harvest time. Members of the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) of Dilan Paurido gather to harvest native pechay on November 11, 2021. They are beneficiaries of DAR Pangasinan's pilot site for the Buhay sa Gulay Project in Urdaneta City.

Urdaneta City, Pangasinan — After more than a month of planting, it's harvest season again for DAR Pangasinan's Buhay sa Gulay project in Brgy. Dilan Paurido, Urdaneta City. In just half a day, beneficiaries sold ₱2,795.00 worth of native pechay to public offices in the city. Another batch of harvest is scheduled in the next few days, and will include squash, camote tops, and string beans (sitaw) as well.

The 1,000 square meter lot, managed by 25 members of the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina (KALIPI) of Dilan Paurido, is Pangasinan's pilot site for the urban gardening project. These women, who are also DSWD's Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries, regularly meet in the garden to take care of their crops. All Buhay sa Gulay sales directly benefit the KALIPI. (za) ###
