P13.4-M “Tulay ng Pangulo” project provides ease of transport to residents of Surigao del Sur

Surigao del Sur –A total of 1,946 residents, including 120 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) will benefit from the Php13.4 million Tulay ng Pangulo para sa Kaunlarang Pang Agraryo (TPKP) project turned over recently by the the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) to the barangay local government of Mandus Lingig, Surigao del Sur, primarily intended to provide the ARBs with easier access to transport their products to the market.

Provincial agrarian reform program officer II (PARPO) Leoncio Bautista Jr. said the Surigao del Sur TPKP is a double-lane modular steel unibridge with a total length of 28.80 linear meters, 1 span, road approaches of 27 meters and can efficiently deliver the essential services within the area and will increase economic activities in the agrarian reform communities (ARCs).

“The residents in the area, especially the farmers can deliver their farm products easier by passing by the new bridge,” Bautista said,

The “Tulay ng Pangulo para sa Kaunlarang Pang-Agraryo” project turned over to the Barangay Mandus, Lingig, Surigao del Sur.

He said the construction of the bridge started on June 28, 2021, and will benefit not only its residents and ARBs but also its neighboring villages.

The project is being monitored by the DAR under the Foreign Assisted and Special Projects Office (FASPO) headed by DAR Acting Bernie Cruz, who expressed his appreciation to all the stakeholders for supporting the project.

ARBs expressed their excitement over the construction of the bridge to link the barangay to other neighboring villages and reduce travel time, cost, and effort.

The TPKP project involves the construction, installation, and establishment of “universal bridges” in priority ARCs which will serve as their road networks to main markets.

Others who graced the event were Assistant Regional Director Agnes Dela Cerna, PARPO I Victor Canda, Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer Restituto Marilla, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Engr. Norman Puy, Executive Assistant Dr. Peter Serra, Mandus Barangay Captain Nilda Consuegra, Palo Alto Barangay Captain Ariel Orquita, DAR employees, barangay officials and residents.

Surigao del Sur – May kabuuang 1,946 na mga residente, kabilang na ang 120 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) ang makikinabang sa P13.4 milyong proyekto na Tulay ng Pangulo para sa Kaunlarang Pang Agraryo (TPKP) na Inilipat kamakailan ng Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) ang pamamahala sa lokal na barangay ng Mandus Lingig, Surigao del Sur, kung saan ang pangunahing layunin nito ay pagkalooban ang mga magsasaka ng mas mabilis na daan upang maihatid ang kanilang mga produkto sa pamilihan.

Sinabi ng Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II (PARPO) Leoncio Bautista Jr. na ang Surigao del Sur TPKP ay may double lane modular steel unibridge na may kabuuang haba na 28.80 linear meters, 1 span, road approaches of 27 meters at makapaghahatid ng mga mahahalagang serbisyo sa naturang lugar at magpapalago ng ekonomiya sa mga agrarian reform communities (ARCs).

"Ang mga residente sa lugar, lalo na ang mga magsasaka ay madaling makapaghatid ng kanilang mga produkto sa sakahan sa pamamagitan ng pagdaan sa bagong tulay na ito," ani Bautista.

Sinimulan aniya ang pagtatayo ng tulay noong Hunyo 28, 2021 at pakikinabangan ito hindi lamang ng mga residente at mga ARBs kung hindi pati na ng mga karatig na nayon dito.

Ang proyekto ay sinusubaybayan ng DAR sa ilalim ng Foreign Assisted and Special Projects Office (FASPO) na pinamumunuan ni DAR Acting Secretary Bernie Cruz, na nagpahayag ng kanyang pasasalamat sa suportang ipinagkaloob ng mga naging katuwang na ahensya upang maisakatuparan ang proyekto.

Nagpahayag ang mga ARBs ng kanilang pananabik sa pagkakatayo ng tulay upang makonekta ang kanilang barangay sa mga karatig na nayon at mabawasan ang oras ng kanilang pagbibiyahe, gastusin at pagod.

Kasama sa proyekto ng TPKP ang pag-install at pagtatayo ng mga “universal bridges” sa mga priority ARCs na magsisilbing kanilang road networks patungo sa mga pangunahing pamilihan.

Ang nasabing okasyon ay dinaluhan nina Assistant Regional Director Agnes Dela Cerna, PARPO I Victor Canda, CARPO Restituto Marilla, Engr. Norman Puy of DPWH Central, Exec. Asst. Dr. Peter Serra, Mandus Barangay Captain Nilda Consuegra, Palo Alto Barangay Captain Ariel Orquita, mga kawani ng DAR, barangay officials at mga residente ng lugar.
