DARPO Bulacan distributes EP/CLOA titles to farmer beneficiaries

The Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office of Bulacan recently distributed agricultural lands to 27 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs), 7 of whom are women, involving twenty (21) hectares, more or less. Twenty-one (21) CLOAs were issued to 17 ARBs while sixteen (16) EPs were awarded to 10 ARBs involving farm lots located in Clusters 1, 2 and 4 covering the Municipalities of San Miguel, San Rafael, San Ildefonso, Plaridel and Guiguinto.

Epifania de Jesus Bunag, 92 years old, wife of the late awardee Florentino Bunag received the CLOA title with 1.6883 hectares of farm lot located in Barangay Bintog, town of Plaridel.

In accepting the title, she narrated that her late husband had been tilling the land since 1944.  She also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Department since the farm land is considered her family’s greatest treasure.

“Ako po si Epifania de Jesus Bunag, asawa ni Florentino Bunag, ay nagpapasalamat sa DAR sa pagkabigay sa amin ng titulo ng lupa.  Maraming, maraming salamat sa DAR.  Ipagpapatuloy namin ang aming pagsasaka.  Ipagpapatuloy ng aking mga anak ang pagsasaka sa aming sakahan.  Maraming salamat sa DAR.”

The distribution was headed by Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II (PARPO) II Geraldine Yumul with PARPO I Marie Louie Cabantac, CARPO Isabel Azurin of the Land Tenure Services Division and PARCCOM Representative Reynaldo dela Cruz.

PARPO I Cabantac emphasized that the Department’s support to farmer beneficiaries does not end with the issuance and awarding of EP/CLOA titles but will continue with the provision of support services like greater access to credit, sustainable livelihood projects and capacity development, among others, for farmers’ organizations to increase agricultural production through business-oriented farming.

PARPO II Yumul further encouraged the beneficiaries to join farmers' organizations to avail of all services provided by the Department with the ultimate goal of reducing poverty and ensuring food security for the nation.
