In recognition to the men and women leaders of agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBOs) in agrarian reform communities (ARCs), the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) on June 23, 2022, conducted an ARBO leaders’ summit with the theme: “Magsasakang Pilipino: Kaabikat sa Pagpapaunlad ng mga Kanayunan.”

DAR Undersecretary for Support Services Atty. Emily O. Padilla said the summit aims to update and capacitate the men and women leaders of ARBOs in ARCs, specifically on the development trends affecting their communities and generate support for the project RAISE the ARCs.

“The ARBO Summit will serve as a venue for knowledge harvesting and knowledge sharing on their success stories through the different products and services,” she said.

Padilla disclosed that the Summit is an opportunity to discuss common issues and seek resolutions to problems shared by the farmer-leaders, to introduce strategies and promote collaboration across ARBOs and ARCs.

“In this gathering, we come together to share the good experiences and successes you have achieved. These eventually will be a collection of good lessons and answers that can be developed into steps or policies to address the problems that may be encountered by the DAR, agrarian reform beneficiary (ARB), ARBO and ARC in the future,” she said.

Padilla expressed her hope that this DAR farmer-leaders summit will serve as a powerful catalyst to align the ARB leaders, the 500,000 ARBs of 9,000 ARBOs, 2,247 ARCs, and 178 ARC Clusters nationwide.

Among the topics discussed during the Summit were transforming the rural communities into viable ARCs through the DAR-SSO Roadmap: Raise the ARCs, gender and development (GAD) mainstreaming in ARBOs and entrepreneurial leadership and livelihood opportunities for ARBOs.

ARBO leader from Tarlac Edgar H. Sumat expressed his gratitude to the DAR for offering its tireless support services to the ARBs.

"We are hoping that the DAR will become even more stable in promoting this kind of leadership training for the sake of the future generation of farmers," Sumat said.

Bilang pagkilala sa mga kalalakihan at kababaihang lider ng agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBOs) sa agrarian reform communities (ARCs), ang Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) noong Hunyo 23, 2022, ay nagsagawa ng agrarian reform beneficiaries organization (ARBO) leaders' summit na may temang: Magsasakang Pilipino: Kaabikat sa Pagpapaunlad ng mga Kanayunan.

Sinabi ni DAR Undersecretary for Support Services Atty. Emily O. Padilla na ang summit ay naglalayong i-update at bigyang kapasidad ang mga kalalakihan at kababaihang lider ng ARBOs sa ARCs, partikular sa mga kalakaran sa pag-unlad na nakakaapekto sa kanilang mga komunidad at makabuo ng suporta para proyektong RAISE the ARCs.

"Ang ARBO Summit ay magsisilbing lugar para sa pag-aani ng kaalaman at pagbabahagi ng kaalaman sa kanilang mga kwento ng tagumpay sa pamamagitan ng iba't ibang produkto at serbisyo," aniya.

Ibinunyag ni Padilla na ang Summit ay isang pagkakataon upang talakayin ang mga karaniwang isyu at maghanap ng mga resolusyon sa mga problemang ibinabahagi ng mga lider na magsasaka, upang ipakilala ang mga estratehiya at isulong ang pakikipagtulungan sa mga ARBO at ARC.

“Sa pagtitipon na ito, tayo ay nagsama-sama upang ibahagi ang magagandang karanasan at tagumpay na inyong natamo. Ang mga ito sa kalaunan ay magiging kalipunan ng magagandang aral at kasagutan na maaaring gawing hakbang o patakaran para matugunan ang mga suliraning maaaring makaharap ng DAR, agrarian reform beneficiary (ARB), ARBO at ARC sa hinaharap,” aniya.

Ipinihayag ni Padilla ang kanyang pag-asa na ang DAR farmer-leaders summit na ito ay magsilbing isang makapangyarihang katalista upang ihanay ang ating mga ARB leaders, ang 500,000 ARBs ng 9,000 ARBOs, 2,247 ARCs, at 178 ARC Clusters sa buong bansa.

Kabilang sa mga paksang tinalakay sa Summit ay ang transforming the rural communities into viable ARCs thru the DAR-SSO Roadmap: Raise the ARCs, gender and development (GAD) mainstreaming in ARBOs and entrepreneurial leadership at livelihood opportunities for ARBOs.

Nagpahayag ng pasasalamat sa DAR ang ARBO leader mula sa Tarlac na si Edgar H. Sumat sa walang pagod at sawang pag-aalay ng suportang serbisyo sa mga ARB.

“Inaasahan namin na sa pagdaan ng panahon, mas magiging matatag ang DAR sa pagsulong ng ganitong klase ng pagsasanay para sa mga namumuno ng kooperatiba, alang alang sa kapakanan ng susunod na henerasyon ng mga magsasaka,” ani Sumat.
