DARPO Cagayan distributes P1.4M worth of machines to four ARBOs to increase farm production

TUGUEGARAO CITY - The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in the province of Cagayan under the helm of Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Val M. Cristobal spearheaded the ceremonial turn-over and acceptance ceremony of farm machineries and equipment (FMEs) amounting to P1.4 Million to four (4) agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBOs) on 02 December 2022 at the DAR Provincial Office, Regional Government Center, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.

This endeavor is under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support (CRFPS) project of the department.  Also, mitigates the effects of climate change among its ARBs through CRFPS wherein it aims to increase the farm productivity and income of the ARBs and household members through mechanized farming.

According to PARPO II Cristobal, in his message, aside from awarding lands to qualified agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs), DAR also provides support services like this.

“I hope with these FMEs, it will help improve the lives of our ARBs.” Cristobal added.

Farm machineries and equipment worth P1.4 Million were turned-over to four ARBOs in Cagayan.

While Cagayan Valley Regional Director Primo C. Lara informed the ARBOs that this is just the beginning of distributing FMEs to the ARBOs. There will be more to be distributed to farmers in this province. He also emphasized that the ARBs have no monetary counterpart in this undertaking, but they are expected to take good care of them and handle these FMEs well. Lara underscored.

The DAR assisted ARBOs namely: Evergreen ARB Coop in Baggao received 7 units of Hand Tractors, Sta. Cruz MPC in Pamplona 1 unit of Multi-function Tiller. While,  Dammang Sur Agrarian Reform Coop in Camalaniugan - 1 Hand Tractor and 1 unit of Mutli-Purpose Rice and Corn Sheller  and 1 unit of Hand Tractor, and San Mariano AR Coop in Lal-lo received 1 unit of Corn Husker/Sheller Heavy Duty with a total amount of P1,400,000.00.

During the ceremonial turn-over, the Memorandum of Agreement, Trust Agreement and Acknowledgement Receipt were forged by PARPO II Cristobal together with Chairpersons Warlito C. Reputola, Danilo Buduan, Maximo M. Morello and Ricky Cabañero.

The said activity was graced by Atty.  Jeremy L. Pescador, OIC-CARPO Christian D. Sales, Engrs. Santiango Mabborang, Jr. and Valiente Mabborang, ARPO II Belly Dela Cruz, ARPOs I Emily Salvatienra, Cecilia Cadauan, Olivia Lappay, other DAR Regional and Provincial Offices personnel and ARBO members.
