DAR collaborates with PIA and media partners

TUGUEGARAO CITY – In order to disseminate information to clients, stakeholders and the general public, through fast-paced environment and advanced technology, the Department of Agrarian Reform Region 02 collaborated with the Philippine Information Agency RO2 (PIA R02) and media practitioners in the locality for a Press Conference cum Meet and Greet on February 15, 2023 at Crown Hotel and Restaurant.

Newly re-appointed Regional Director Primo C. Lara, Cagayan Valley Region, gladly met with the representatives of PIA R02 and seven (7) media partners during the said occasion.

 

RD Lara, in his opening statement, mentioned about the nine (9)-point Agenda of Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III.  “Within six (6) years, DAR will continue to focus and give interventions on land tenure problems, agrarian justice delivery, support services, medical and educational expenses, technical skills, farm to market roads, diversified income resources and irrigation.”

“This is a Whole-of-government approach where the DAR together with the other national government agencies will work as one to attain this goal,” he further explained.

 

During the open forum, Pablo Mamauag of DZYT Sonshine Radio, Marvin Cangcang of Bombo Radyo Tuguegarao, Rodel Ordillos from RBC Cable, Cayatano Tuddao, GMA Corresponded Cagayan Valley, Joshua Kahulugan, The Northern Forum and Monette A. Calucag from DZCV asked questions on land use conversion, Tulay ng Pangulo project, impact of CARP with ARBs and the SPLIT project.

Before the activity ended, RD Lara took the opportunity to encourage the agrarian reform beneficiaries to be more proactive by supporting DAR’s programs and expressed his gratitude to PIA R02 headed by RD Angely L. Mercado for the opportunity to promote the programs, projects and services offered by the DAR.

 

“This will not be the first and definitely not the last for this kind of undertaking. We look forward for a strong linkaging and partnership amongst the DAR, PIA and media partners, he said.

 

Gene V. Baquiran, Information Officer II served as moderator in this occasion.  While Mark Djerone T. Cadiente, Alvin delos Santos, John Dean Iquin and Fernando Urata Jr. acted as technical team, all from PIA R02.
