It invited resource speakers from the Provincial Communications Group of DAR Negros Occidental 2 who discussed topics about Development Communication, News and Feature Writing, Basic Photography, and Basic Graphic Design and shared its Best Practices to a total of 17 participants coming from different sectors and divisions, some of whom were new to journalism.

PARPO II Florentino D. Siladan welcomed the attendees and stressed the importance and necessity of the seminar-workshop.

“To achieve the agency's public relations objectives, effective and strategic communication is imperative. Therefore, strengthening our communication arm should be at the core of our business as it allows a smooth relationship with our stakeholders and farmer beneficiaries” he said.

The seminar-workshop aims to equip participants on the basic principles of journalistic writing, and the latest trends and approaches to photography and graphic design. It also seeks to promote the right access to information to combat fake news necessary to strengthen journalistic values and inculcate the essence of a development communicator.

A workshop was then conducted as an exercise to gauge the level of knowledge of the participants learned from the discussion. The groups were given tasks accordingly, which were later presented in front of the resource speakers for evaluation.
