Farmer-beneficiaries in Cotabato receive land titles
The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in the province of Cotabato has delivered land titles right at the doorsteps of two (2) agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the town of Makilala, as proof that they are now the owners of the lands they were tilling.
The certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs), a landholding previously in the name of Philippine National Bank embraced with Title No. T-58365, Lot 41/PLS-592, and a total area of 4.2967 hectares, were awarded to Salipada Landas and Alberto Saway, both from Barangay Buhay, formerly known as Indangan.
Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer Lisette Caasi said this activity is in line with Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III’s effort to bring the government close to the farmers.
“This simple deed gives hope to our people; that the DAR is doing its best to help the ARBs realize their dreams of owning lands,” she said.
Caasi added that the DAR’s mandate does not end in providing land titles to the ARBs, as the agency continues to provide them with various assistance such as access to financial aid, farm machinery, training, and infrastructure facilities, among others.
