BJMP Headquarters, Quezon City – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) met on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, to review the achievements of their Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (PAHP) project and discuss the next steps for continued collaboration.

The DAR-BJMP partnership aims to provide economic support to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) while ensuring food security in BJMP facilities. Under this initiative, Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBOs) will directly supply food products to BJMP facilities nationwide.

Leading the discussions were Undersecretary for Support Services Office (SSO) Josef Angelo S. Martires and Chief Jail Director Ruel S. Rivera.

The meeting highlighted key milestones, including the PAHP project’s gross sales of P115,994,416.56 from ARBOs since its launch in 2019. In 2024 alone, ARBO transactions generated P30,567,938.79 in sales. Officials also explored strategies to strengthen cooperation, expand project reach, and ensure its long-term sustainability.

JDir Rivera reaffirmed BJMP’s commitment to supporting DAR’s initiatives, ensuring that Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) have access to nutritious, and high-quality food through the partnership.

Moving forward, both agencies will explore new programs aligned with their shared mission of economic growth and food security, starting with a nationwide signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with all regional offices.

DAR, BJMP, Tinalakay ang Tagumpay ng PAHP Partnership at Mga Plano para sa Seguridad sa Ekonomiya at Pagkain

BJMP Headquarters, Quezon City – Nagpulong ang Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) at Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) noong Martes, ika-4 ng Marso 2025, upang talakayin ang mga tagumpay ng Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (PAHP) at itakda ang mga susunod na hakbang para sa patuloy na pakikipagtulungan.

Layunin ng DAR-BJMP partnership na suportahan ang Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay ng oportunidad sa ekonomiya habang sinisiguro ang sapat at masustansyang pagkain sa BJMP facilities. Sa ilalim ng proyektong ito, ang Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBOs) ang nagsisilbing direktang supplier ng pagkain sa mga pasilidad ng BJMP sa buong bansa.

Binigyang-diin sa pagpupulong ang mahahalagang tagumpay ng proyekto, kabilang ang P115,994,416.56 gross sales mula sa ARBOs mula nang ilunsad ito noong 2019. Noong 2024 lamang, nakapagtala ang ARBO ng P30,567,938.79 sa bentahan. Pinag-usapan din ang mga estratehiya upang palakasin ang ugnayan, palawakin ang saklaw ng proyekto, at tiyakin ang patuloy na tagumpay nito.

Muling ipinahayag ni JDir Rivera ang suporta ng BJMP sa mga programa ng DAR upang matiyak na ang mga Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) ay may sapat na mapagkukunan ng masustansya at dekalidad na pagkain.

Bilang sunod na hakbang, magtutulungan ang dalawang ahensya sa pagsasaliksik ng mga bagong programa upang palakasin ang ekonomiya at seguridad sa pagkain, na sisimulan sa isang pambansang paglagda ng Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) kasama ang lahat ng regional offices.
