DAR hepls typhoon victims in Negros Occidental

DAR Secretary Bernie F. Cruz personally led the contingent from the Department of Agrarian Reform which made rounds within Negros Occidental, particularly in areas most affected by typhoon Odette on January 6, 2022.

The night before, a briefing was held with the Regional Management, Provincial Heads and DAREA Chapter Presidents of DAR Region VI, where the humble Secretary expressed his appreciation to the prompt response of his DAR counterparts in Western Visayas.

The DAR Secretary went to Brgy. Mambaruto, Sipalay, Negros Occidental for the giving of assistance to the agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs). Along the way, the group made quick stops on DAR Municipal Offices (DARMOs) of Hinigaran, Himamaylan City, Kabankalan City and Cauayan to deliver the portable gasoline generator which is a great help to areas with no or intermittent-scheduled electricity.

During the program, the Secretary explained that he came to talk less and listen more to the ARB victims. “Narito kami para pakinggan ang mga pangangailangan ninyo. Kung ano man ang problema, ipaabot ninyo at sisikapin nating mahanapan ng solusyon,” Sec. Bernie Cruz said.

The activity is indeed a ‘Mission Accomplished!’ Affected ARBs and DAR employees were so grateful that in their most despondent moments, the Department of Agrarian Reform is unfailing in responding to where the call of duty is most resounding.
