Kapangan, Benguet – A total of 769 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in Lomon, Kapangan, Benguet will now enjoy better road access and increased economic opportunities with the completion of the PHP 10-million Labueg-Taba-ao Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

Funded under the Agrarian Reform Fund (ARF), the 1.267-kilometer FMR will significantly ease the transportation of agricultural products, reduce post-harvest losses, and improve market access, allowing farmers to sell their goods more efficiently.

Expressing gratitude for the project, ARB Winston Tadpol shared, “We would like to express our gratitude for the DAR’s project. It’s great because as beneficiaries we can now travel with ease.”

DAR Project Management Services (PMS) OIC-Director IV Von Mark R. Mendoza reaffirmed the government’s dedication to serving agrarian reform communities (ARCs), emphasizing the long-term benefits of infrastructure projects like this, ensuring that ARBs experience better livelihood and improved quality of life.

“This is a testament to our commitment to making government programs more accessible, especially to our ARBs. The FMR is a bridge to better opportunities for our ARBs,” Mendoza said.

Kapangan Mayor Manny Fermin thanked DAR and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for their support, highlighting the importance of inter-agency collaboration in bringing development at the grassroots level.

“Sana ay magpatuloy pa ang partnership natin. Our Municipal Local Government Unit alone cannot do such a project on its own,” the mayor said.

DAR-Cordillera Administrative Region (DAR-CAR) Regional Director Samuel S. Solomero noted that DAR continues to implement programs that further support the ARBs. These include Project SPLIT, which secures land tenure for ARBs, and the Value Chain Innovation for Sustainable Transformation in Agrarian Reform Communities (VISTA) Project, a six-year program focused on enhancing rural development, food security, and environmental sustainability.

Present at the event were representatives from the DAR Central Office, DAR-CAR officials, DPWH, local government officials, and ARBs from Labueg and Taba-ao.

Mga ARBs sa Benguet, Makikinabang sa Bagong Farm-to-Market Road

Kapangan, Benguet – Makikinabang ang 769 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) sa Lomon, Kapangan, Benguet sa mas madaling pagbiyahe at mas maraming oportunidad pang-ekonomiya matapos ang matagumpay na konstruksyon ng PHP 10-milyong Labueg-Taba-ao Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) ng Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

Pinondohan sa ilalim ng Agrarian Reform Fund (ARF), ang 1.267-kilometrong FMR ay magpapadali sa pagdala ng ani, magbabawas ng pagkalugi pagkatapos mag-ani, at magpapalawak ng pamilihan para sa mga magsasaka, kaya mas madali nilang maibebenta ang kanilang produkto.

Nagpahayag ng pasasalamat si ARB Winston Tadpol sa DAR, “Lubos kaming nagpapasalamat sa proyektong ito ng DAR. Malaking ginhawa ito para sa amin dahil mas madali na naming mararating ang aming mga destinasyon.”

Ipinahayag naman ni DAR Project Management Services (PMS) OIC-Director IV Von Mark R. Mendoza ang patuloy na pagsisikap ng pamahalaan na suportahan ang mga agrarian reform communities (ARCs).

“Ang proyektong ito ay patunay ng aming pangako na gawing mas mabilis ang serbisyo ng gobyerno, lalo na sa ating mga ARBs. Ang FMR na ito ay magsisilbing tulay tungo sa mas maginhawang pamumuhay para sa kanila,” ani Mendoza.

Nagpasalamat si Kapangan Mayor Manny Fermin sa DAR at Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) para sa kanilang suporta, at binigyang-diin ang kahalagahan ng pagtutulungan ng mga ahensya ng gobyerno sa pagpapaunlad ng mga pamayanan.

“Sana ay magpatuloy pa ang ating partnership. Hindi kaya ng aming Municipal Local Government Unit na gawin ito nang mag-isa,” wika ng alkalde.

Ayon kay DAR-Cordillera Administrative Region (DAR-CAR) Regional Director Samuel S. Solomero, patuloy ang DAR sa pagpapatupad ng mga programang makakatulong sa mga ARBs. Kabilang dito ang Project SPLIT, na nagbibigay ng seguridad sa lupa para sa mga ARBs, at ang VISTA Project, isang anim na taong programa na naglalayong pagandahin ang pag-unlad sa kanayunan, seguridad sa pagkain, at pangangalaga sa kalikasan.

Dumalo sa turn-over ceremony ang mga kinatawan mula sa DAR Central Office, DAR-CAR, DPWH, mga opisyal ng lokal na pamahalaan, at mga ARB mula sa Labueg at Taba-ao.

Sa pamamagitan ng FMR na ito, muling pinagtitibay ni DAR Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III ang pangako ng DAR na pagbutihin ang kalidad ng buhay ng ARBs, lalo na sa mga malalayong komunidad ng mga magsasaka sa buong bansa.
