Camarines Sur – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Iriga City District Jail have partnered to ensure a steady supply of fresh, healthy food for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) while providing economic opportunities for the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in Camarines Sur.

Led by Labawon Agrarian Reform Upland Farmers Association (LARUFA) Inc., this initiative strengthens food security and enhances the livelihoods of ARBs, aligning with the government’s broader efforts to combat hunger and poverty.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II Ricardo C. Garcia emphasized that the collaboration supports the Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (PAHP) initiative, which aims to uplift marginalized communities.

“This initiative serves as a model for government partnerships that address both food security and economic empowerment, demonstrating how collaboration can create sustainable solutions for poverty alleviation,” Garcia said.

Under the agreement, LARUFA, Inc., headed by President Ariel P. Amaro, will supply the BJMP Iriga City District Jail with fresh vegetables, fish, meat, and poultry. This will benefit approximately 473 PDLs while ensuring stable income for LARUFA’s 104-member families.

Deliveries will be made weekly or monthly, depending on the jail’s requirements. The agreement also ensures product quality and guarantees timely payments, providing financial security for ARBs.

BJMP Iriga City District Jail officials, including Acting Warden Jail Chief Inspector Freddie T. Caballero II and Food Service Supervisor Senior Jail Officer IV Alfredo S. DAR, BJMP Nagkaisa Para Umunlad ang Kabuhayan ng ARBs at Magkaroon ng Seguridad sa Pagkain sa Camarines Sur

Camarines Sur – Nagtulungan ang Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) at Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Iriga City District Jail upang matiyak ang tuloy-tuloy na supply ng sariwa at masustansyang pagkain para sa Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) habang nagbibigay ng oportunidad sa kabuhayan ng Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) sa Camarines Sur.

Pinangungunahan ng Labawon Agrarian Reform Upland Farmers Association (LARUFA) Inc.,, pinalalakas ng inisyatibong ito ang seguridad sa pagkain at gagawing maunlad ang kabuhayan ng ARBs, alinsunod sa mga programa ng gobyerno laban sa kagutuman at kahirapan.

Ayon kay Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II Ricardo C. Garcia, sinusuportahan ng programang ito ang Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (PAHP) na naglalayong iangat ang kabuhayan ng mga mahihirap na komunidad.

“Ang inisyatibong ito ay isang modelo ng magandang pagtutulungan sa pagitan ng gobyerno at ng mga ARB, na tumutugon sa parehong seguridad sa pagkain at pagpapatibay ng kabuhayan,” ani Garcia.

Sa ilalim ng kasunduan, ang LARUFA, Inc. sa pangunguna ni Pangulong Ariel P. Amaro ay regular na magsusuplay ng sariwang gulay, isda, karne, at manok sa BJMP Iriga City District Jail. Makikinabang dito ang humigit-kumulang 473 PDLs, habang matitiyak naman ang mas matatag na kita para sa 104 pamilyang kasapi ng LARUFA, Inc.

Ang mga produkto ay idedeliber lingguhan o buwanan, depende sa pangangailangan ng bilangguan. Tinitiyak din ng kasunduan ang kalidad ng mga produkto at napapanahong bayad, na nagbibigay ng seguridad sa kita ng ARBs.

Nagpahayag ng pasasalamat ang mga opisyal ng BJMP Iriga City District Jail, kabilang sina Acting Warden Jail Chief Inspector Freddie T. Caballero II at Food Service Supervisor Senior Jail Officer IV Alfredo S. Martinez Jr., sa pakikipagtulungan. Kanilang binigyang-diin ang positibong epekto nito sa kapakanan ng mga PDLs at sa lokal na sektor ng agrikultura.
