QUEZON CITY, October 17, 2024 – The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) held the coronation night for the Bb. Agraryo 2024 beauty personality search, celebrating the contributions of women within the department in advancing agrarian reform, gender equality, and rural development. The event took place at the DAR Gymnasium in Quezon City and was themed “Ang Babae sa Panahon ng Repormang Agraryo at Pagbabago,” underscoring the pivotal role women play in agrarian reform and rural transformation.
The Bb. Agraryo 2024 pageant serves as a platform to recognize women’s vital contributions to the department’s mission. Candidates from both DAR Central and Regional Offices showcased not only their beauty and talent but also their advocacy for gender equality and agrarian justice.
The highlight of the evening was the crowning of Gean Ariane R. Ponce from DAR Central Luzon as Bb. Agraryo 2024, earning her the title of DAR’s Ambassadress for Agrarian Reform.
In her new role, Ponce will represent DAR in promoting women’s empowerment and championing gender equality initiatives across the country.
Other major titles were awarded to Precious Joezhel T. Mortel from the Bicol Region as Bb. Luzon 2024, Josephine M. Realubit from Zamboanga Peninsula as Bb. Visayas 2024, and Angelica B. Valenzuela from DAR Central Office’s Finance, Management, and Administration Office (FMAO) as Bb. Mindanao 2024.
Crowd Favorite, Regional Winners Shine
Among the candidates, Bicol Region’s Precious Joezhel T. Mortel emerged as the crowd favorite, sweeping five awards: Social Media Star, Best in Traditional Costume, Best in Sportswear, Best in Philippine Terno, and Best in Evening Gown.
Meanwhile, Leslie Ann C. Carin from Davao Region received the Sulong Agraryo Award for Best Advocacy Video, and Hazel C. Diego from MIMAROPA took home the Best in Talent and Miss DITO Telecommunity Award, who also received a Galaxy cellular phone.
The event also featured an esteemed panel of judges, including Christine Salcedo (Miss Universe Philippines Marinduque 2023), Ronnie Ong (Chairman of Local Water Utilities Administration), Joy Arguil (Founder of FabPhil), Ivhory Ann Sarte (Director of Project Development for G3 Multi-Construction Group), Enrico Sangcap (Owner and President of Dragon Sangkap), Mark Logan (Broadcast journalist and TV host), Atty. Hans Puno (Lawyer specializing in data privacy and telecommunications law), and Engr. Mannix Melencion (Head of DM Wenceslao Group of Companies).
Empowering Women for Agrarian Reform
DAR Undersecretary Rowena Nina Taduran, who leads the department’s Gender and Development (GAD) National Steering Committee, emphasized the significance of the pageant’s theme: “This pageant aims to raise awareness about the importance of gender equality and the vital role of women in agrarian reform. By empowering women, especially those who are agrarian reform beneficiaries, we promote inclusivity and diversity, ensuring that women have an active voice in rural development.”
DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III also highlighted the department’s commitment to empowering women through platforms like Bb. Agraryo 2024: “The Bb. Agraryo 2024 pageant embodies our dedication to recognizing and empowering women for their significant contributions to agrarian reform. This platform not only celebrates their beauty and talent but also acknowledges their commitment to advancing gender equality and supporting rural communities. DAR Kinoronahan ang Bb. Agraryo 2024; Binibigyang-Diin ang Papel ng Kababaihan sa Repormang Agraryo

Quezon City, Oktubre 17, 2024 – Idinaos ng Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) ang Bb. Agraryo 2024 coronation night bilang pagkilala sa mga kontribusyon ng kababaihan sa loob ng ahensya para isulong ang repormang agraryo, pagkakapantay-pantay ng kasarian, at pag-unlad ng kanayunan.
Ginanap ang naturang okasyonn sa DAR Gymnasium sa Quezon City, na may temang “Ang Babae sa Panahon ng Repormang Agraryo at Pagbabago,” na nagpapakita ng mahalagang papel ng kababaihan sa repormang agraryo at pagsulong ng pagbabago sa kanayunan.
Ang Bb. Agraryo 2024 ay isang plataporma upang kilalanin ang mahahalagang kontribusyon ng kababaihan sa misyon ng DAR. Ipinakita ng mga kandidata mula sa Central at Regional Offices ng DAR, ang kanilang ganda, talento, at adbokasiya para sa pagkakapantay-pantay ng kasarian at katarungang agraryo.
Ang korona ng Bb. Agraryo 2024 ay napanalunan ni Gean Ariane R. Ponce mula sa DAR Central Luzon, na ngayon ay kikilalanin bilang Ambassadress for Agrarian Reform ng DAR.
Sa kanyang bagong tungkulin, kakatawanin ni Ponce ang DAR sa pagtataguyon ng kalakasan ng kababaihan at adbokasiya para sa pagkakapantay-pantay ng kasarian sa buong bansa.

Pagpapalakas ng Kababaihan para sa Repormang Agraryo
Binigyang-diin ni DAR Undersecretary Rowena Nina Taduran, pinuno ng Gender and Development (GAD) National Steering Committee, ang kahalagahan ng tema ng patimpalak: “Nilalayon ng pageant na ito na palawakin ang kamalayan sa kahalagahan ng pagkakapantay-pantay ng kasarian at ang mahalagang papel ng kababaihan sa repormang agraryo. Sa pamamagitan ng pagbibigay kapangyarihan sa mga kababaihan, partikular na ng mga agrarian reform beneficiaries, isinusulong natin ang pagiging inklusibo at pagkakaiba-iba upang tiyakin na may boses ang kababaihan sa pagpapaunlad ng kanayunan.”
Binanggit ni DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III ang pangako ng departamento sa pagpapalakas ng kababaihan sa pamamagitan ng mga plataporma tulad ng Bb. Agraryo 2024:
“Ang Bb. Agraryo 2024 pageant ay sumasalamin sa ating dedikasyon na kilalanin at palakasin ang kababaihan para sa kanilang mahalagang kontribusyon sa repormang agraryo. Ang platapormang ito ay hindi lamang nagdiriwang ng kanilang kagandahan at talento, kundi kinikilala rin ang kanilang pagsisikap sa pagsusulong ng pagkakapantay-pantay ng kasarian at pagtulong sa mga komunidad sa kanayunan. Ipinagmamalaki namin ang pagsuporta sa inisyatibang ito at nasasabik kaming makita kung paano higit na mag-aambag ang mga kahanga-hangang kababaihang ito sa ating misyon.”
Ang Bb. Agraryo 2024 pageant ay bahagi ng mga patuloy na pagsisikap ng DAR na isulong ang pagkakapantay-pantay ng kasarian at pagpapalakas ng kababaihan, partikular na sa sektor ng repormang agraryo, upang matiyak na patuloy na magiging mga pangunahing aktor ang kababaihan sa pagbabago ng mga komunidad sa kanayunan sa buong bansa.
