The year 2025 marks a promising start for the economic livelihood of farmers in Romblon, and for the development of the province’s infrastructure as the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in the province collaborated with the local government units (LGUs) within Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) for the construction of various farm-to-market road (FMR) projects in the area.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Camilo Claro Pacquing, along with other DAR officials and the FMR Validation Team, spearheaded an in-depth discussion with the Local Chief Executives of Alcantara and Looc to jumpstart the construction of infrastructure projects for 2025.

The meeting aimed to ensure the smooth implementation of these crucial road projects. Both parties agreed to finalize project details and documentary requirements, ensuring efficient execution that will benefit the province’s economic development, particularly the farmers.

“The FMR projects are expected to open up more market opportunities for farmers’ agricultural products. Additionally, the roads will provide faster access to transport produce to various towns and barangays,” Pacquing said.

Pacquing emphasized that this initiative underscores DAR-Romblon’s commitment to empowering agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) by improving market accessibility and promoting inclusive progress across the province.

An Agrarian Reform Community (ARC) is a barangay or group of barangays in a municipality where most of the lands covered by the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) have been awarded to ARBs.

Ang taong 2025 ay nagbukas ng isang magandang simula para sa kabuhayan ng mga magsasaka sa Romblon, at para sa pagpapa-unlad ng imprastruktura ng lalawigan dahil nakipagtulungan ang Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) sa lalawigan sa mga local government units (LGUs) sa loob ng mga Agrarian Reform Communities (ARCs) para sa pagpapatayo ng iba’t ibang mga proyekto ng farm-to-market road (FMR) sa lugar.

Pinangunahan ni Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Camilo Claro Pacquing, kasama ang iba pang mga opisyal ng DAR at ang FMR Validation Team, ang isang masusing pag-uusap kasama ang mga Local Chief Executives ng Alcantara at Looc upang simulant ang pagtatayo ng mga proyektong pang-imprastraktura para sa 2025.

Layunin ng pagpupulong na tiyakin ang maayos na pagpapatupad ng mga mahahalagang proyektong kalsada. Pumayag ang magkabilang panig na tapusin ang mga detalye ng proyekto at mga kinakailangang dokumento upang matiyak ang mabisang pagpapatupad na magdudulot ng benepisyo sa pag-unlad ng ekonomiya ng lalawigan, lalo na para sa mga magsasaka.

“Inaasahan na magbubukas ang mga proyekto ng FMR ng mas maraming oportunidad sa merkado para sa mga produktong agrikultural ng mga magsasaka. Bukod dito, magbibigay ang mga kalsadang ito ng mas mabilis na daan upang mailabas ang kanilang mga produkto sa iba’t ibang bayan at barangay,” ani Pacquing.

Binanggit ni Pacquing na ang inisyatibong ito ay nagpapakita ng pangako ng DAR-Romblon na bigyan ng kapangyarihan ang mga agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) sa pamamagitan ng pagpapabuti ng kalsada patungong sa merkado at pagsusulong ng inklusibong pag-unlad sa buong lalawigan.

Ang Agrarian Reform Community (ARC) ay isang barangay o grupo ng mga barangay sa isang munisipalidad kung saan karamihan sa mga lupaing saklaw ng Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) ay naipamahagi na sa mga ARBs.
