Manito, Albay – Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in Albay are set to expand their income opportunities as the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) launched the Village-Level Farm Enterprise Development (VLFED) Project in partnership with the Tinapian Farmers Fishermen Multi-Purpose Cooperative (TFFMPC). The project was officially marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement and the turnover of meat processing equipment.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) Maria Eugenia M. Alteza highlighted the project’s goal of helping ARBs move beyond traditional farming by equipping them with the tools and resources for value-added production.

“We recognize the dedication of TFFMPC and their local leaders, which is why they were chosen for this project. With the right support, they can expand their enterprise and create more livelihood opportunities for their members,” Atienza said.

“By enabling ARBs to process their own products, we help them earn higher profits and secure a sustainable market presence,” she added.

Under the project, the Tinapian MPC received a P500,000 subsidy to fund essential equipment, including the procurement of a chariot for hauling raw materials; an automatic voltage regulator, a hanging weighing scale; an electric meat grinder; a meat slicer; a worktable; a generator; and essential construction and electrical materials for the renovation of the ARBO’s processing center.

DAR is also committed to assisting in marketing the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization’s (ARBO) products to ensure their long-term success. Alteza stressed that engaging in meat processing allows farmers to add value to their livestock, creating new income streams and strengthening their financial stability.

Previously, Tinapian MPC focused on swine production under the Sustainable Livelihood Support for Disaster-Affected Areas Project. With this new initiative, the ARBO can now process their livestock into meat products, increasing their market reach and profitability while generating more jobs for members.

Support from Local Leaders

Mayor Rebecca Chen reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to supporting the ARBO, urging members to remain dedicated to their enterprise. “Even small steps move us forward. This business requires hard work and perseverance,” she said.

Tinapian MPC President Lolito Bayna Jr. expressed gratitude for DAR’s support and pledged to maximize the resources provided. “We will make this assistance productive. DAR Nagbigay ng Meat Processing Tools sa mga ARB ng Albay Upang Mapabuti ang Kanilang Kabuhayan

Manito, Albay – Mas mapapalawak ng Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) sa Albay ang kanilang kabuhayan matapos ilunsad ng Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) ang Village-Level Farm Enterprise Development (VLFED) Project. Ang proyekto ay naisakatuparan sa pakikipagtulungan ng Tinapian Farmers Fishermen Multi-Purpose Cooperative (TFFMPC) at opisyal na sinimulan sa pamamagitan ng pagpirma ng Memorandum of Agreement at ang pagbibigay ng mga kagamitang pangproseso ng karne.

Ayon kay Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) Maria Eugenia M. Alteza, layunin ng proyekto na bigyan ng dagdag na kaalaman at kagamitan ang mga ARB upang mapalawak nila ang kanilang kita mula sa simpleng pagsasaka patungo sa produksyon ng mas mataas na halaga.

“Nakikita namin ang sipag at dedikasyon ng TFFMPC at kanilang mga lider, kaya sila ang napili para sa proyektong ito. Sa tamang suporta, mapapalago nila ang kanilang negosyo at makakalikha ng mas maraming kabuhayan para sa kanilang mga miyembro,” ani Alteza.

“Sa pamamagitan ng pagpoproseso ng sarili nilang produkto, matutulungan natin silang magkaroon ng mas mataas na kita at mas matatag na merkado,” dagdag pa niya.

Bilang bahagi ng proyekto, nakatanggap ang Tinapian MPC ng ₱500,000 na pondo para sa pagbili ng mahahalagang kagamitan tulad ng: pagbili ng isang chariot para sa paghatid ng raw materials; isang automatic voltage regulator; isang hanging weighing scale; isang electric meat grinder; isang meat slicer; isang worktable; isang generator; at mahahalagang materyales sa konstruksiyon at elektrikal para sa pagsasaayos ng pasilidad sa pagpoproseso ng karne.

Bukod sa pagbibigay ng kagamitan, tiniyak din ng DAR na tutulungan ang Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization (ARBO) sa pagmemerkado ng kanilang produkto upang matiyak ang tagumpay ng kanilang negosyo. Ayon kay Alteza, sa pagpasok ng Tinapian MPC sa meat processing, mas mapapataas nila ang halaga ng kanilang mga alagang hayop, magbubukas ng bagong oportunidad sa kita, at mas magiging matatag ang kanilang kabuhayan.

Dati nang nakatutok ang Tinapian MPC sa pag-aalaga ng baboy sa ilalim ng Sustainable Livelihood Support for Disaster-Affected Areas Project. Sa bagong hakbang na ito, maaari na nilang iproseso ang kanilang mga alagang hayop upang maging processed meat products, na magpapalawak ng kanilang merkado at magpapataas ng kita habang lumilikha ng mas maraming trabaho para sa kanilang mga miyembro.

Suporta mula sa mga Lokal na Opisyal

Ipinahayag ni Mayor Rebecca Chen ang buong suporta ng lokal na pamahalaan sa ARBO at hinikayat ang mga miyembro na maging masipag sa pagpapatakbo ng negosyo. “Kahit maliit na hakbang, basta tuloy-tuloy, ay makararating tayo sa tagumpay. Ang negosyong ito ay nangangailangan ng tiyaga at sipag,” ani Chen.

Nagpasalamat naman si Tinapian MPC President Lolito Bayna Jr. sa tulong ng DAR at nangakong gagamitin nang tama at maayos ang mga natanggap nilang kagamitan. “Sisiguraduhin naming magiging produktibo ang suportang ito. Ang lupa na ibinigay ng gobyerno ay aming aalagaan, at magtutulungan tayo upang makinabang hindi lang ang aming mga miyembro kundi ang buong komunidad,” pahayag niya.
