Agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) from the Davao and SOCCSKSARGEN Region received Php 1,617,208,979.35 in debt relief during the distribution of Certificates of Condonation and Release of Mortgage (COCROM) led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in Mindanao on Thursday, December 5, 2024.

The events, held in Panabo City, Davao del Norte, and Alabel, Sarangani, saw the issuance of COCROMs, which freed 9,158 ARBS in Davao from Php 678.1 million in agrarian debt and 11,709 ARBS in SOCCSKSARGEN from Php 939.1 million in financial obligations. A total of 25,086 COCROMS were distributed in both regions.

In addition to the debt relief, President Marcos honored the legacy of his late father by awarding 816 land titles to ARBs across Davao, including 672 e-titles to farmers from Davao del Sur and Davao del Norte, and 144 Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAS) to ARBs in Davao City. He also distributed 1,251 CLOAS in SOCCSKSARGEN.

This initiative supports the President’s vision of a “Bagong Pilipinas,” where Filipino farmers have access to the resources and support they need to build a prosperous future.

Reaffirming his administration’s whole-of-government approach to serving the Filipino people, the President called on everyone to join in building a brighter future, strengthening the agricultural sector, and fostering a more robust economy.

Patuloy po ang pagsisikap ng gobyerno na mabigyan kayo ng mga proyekto na makakatulong sa pagpapalago ng inyong mga sakahan at magpapatatag sa sektor ng agrikultura, the President emphasized.

With the full implementation of the New Agrarian Emancipation Act (RA No. 11953) farmers and agrarian reform beneficiaries now have the means to invest in their land, maximize agricultural productivity, and contribute to national food security. This marks a significant step toward advancing economic sustainability and social justice, providing farmers with the opportunity to build a brighter future for their families and communities.
