PARPO Patricia T. Rastrullo (in pink jacket) and PBD Chief Chito P. Molina, led the turnover of the tractor to SAMPI President Angelita P. Polidario (in blue blouse) and its members.

Legazpi City— Farming just got easier and more productive for the Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organization (ARBO) in Ligao City, Albay, as the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) turned over a brand-new heavy tractor worth P1.5 million to the Samahan ng mga Agraryong Magsasaka sa Pag-Unlad, Inc. (SAMPI).

The tractor was provided under DAR’s Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project (CRFPSP), aimed at helping Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) increase farm efficiency and adapt to climate challenges.

DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III said the initiative is part of President Marcos’ administration’s commitment to show farmers that they are valued and supported.

“Our goal is to make farmers happy. When they are motivated, they work better, which leads to higher productivity and better income,” Secretary Estrella said.

PARPO Patricia T. Rastrullo (in pink jacket) and PBD Chief Chito P. Molina, led the turnover of the tractor to SAMPI President Angelita P. Polidario (in blue blouse) and its members.

Patricia T. Rastrullo, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) in Albay, encouraged SAMPI members to maximize the tractor’s use and continue to strive for the improvement of their livelihoods.

“We believe in your ability to succeed. The government is here to support your journey toward a better life,” she said.

Chito P. Molina, Program Beneficiaries Development Division Chief, DAR Albay, reminded the ARBO to use the equipment responsibly. He emphasized the importance of maintenance and regular reporting as part of their trust agreement with DAR.

SAMPI President Angelita P. Polidario expressed gratitude on behalf of the group, noting how the new tractor will greatly ease the burden of corn farmers in their community.

“This is a big help for us. We promise to take good care of this tractor and use it to improve our farming operations,” Polidario said.

With continued support from DAR, ARBOs like SAMPI are now better equipped to improve production and build more resilient and sustainable farming communities. (By: Richard B. Gallardo with contributions from DAR Albay)
