Final inspection of solar-powered irrigation system (SPIS) for ARBs of Kisulan Solar Powered Irrigation Association in Kiblawan, Davao del Sur.

Kiblawan, Davao del Sur — Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) of Kisulan Solar Powered Irrigation Association, Inc. are set to benefit from the municipality’s first-ever solar-powered irrigation system (SPIS) worth Php 30 million.

The initiative, led by Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III, is implemented in partnership with the local government of Kiblawan, Davao del Sur and the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and aims to enhance agricultural productivity and food security in the region.

The project, which is funded through the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) Irrigation Component-Agrarian Reform Fund (ARF), is now fully completed, and ready for turnover to 44 ARBs and their community.

Covering 80 hectares of farmland, the SPIS will provide sustainable and cost-efficient irrigation, reducing ARBs’ reliance on expensive fuel-powered pumps.

During the final inspection, representatives from the DAR Region XI, NIA, the Provincial Agrarian Reform Coordinating Committee (PARCCOM), the Barangay Agrarian Reform Committee (BARC), the Irrigators Association (IA) Chairman and local government officials confirmed that the system is operational and ready to deliver long-term benefits to ARBs and the local economy.

“This milestone marks a significant step forward for our ARBs, empowering them with access to reliable irrigation while promoting renewable energy solutions in agriculture,” said DAR Davao del Sur Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II (PARPO II) Jupiter S. Arandela, Jr.

Aside from land distribution, DAR continues to support ARBs by implementing vital programs such as irrigation development, farm-to-market roads, credit access and modern agricultural training. With this successful project, DAR reaffirms its commitment to modernizing irrigation infrastructure, increasing farmers’ incomes, and ensuring the sustainability of Kiblawan’s farming communities. Php 30-Milyong Solar-Powered Irrigation Project, Magpapalakas sa Produksyon ng mga ARB sa Kiblawan

Kiblawan, Davao del Sur — Makikinabang ang Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) mula sa Kisulan Solar Powered Irrigation Association, Inc. sa kauna-unahang solar-powered irrigation system (SPIS) sa bayan ng Kiblawan na nagkakahalaga ng Php 30 milyon.

Ang inisyatibo, na pinangungunahan ni Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Secretary Conrado M. Estrella III, ay isinagawa katuwang ang lokal na pamahalaan ng Kiblawan at National Irrigation Administration (NIA) at may layuning mapataas ang ani ng mga ARB at masigurong may sapat na pagkain sa rehiyon.

Ang proyekto ay pinondohan sa ilalim ng Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) Irrigation Component gamit ang Agrarian Reform Fund (ARF). Ito ay ganap nang natapos at handa nang i-turnover sa 44 na ARBs at sa kanilang komunidad.

Sasaklawin ng SPIS ang 80 ektaryang lupang pansakahan at magbibigay ng maaasahan at matipid na irigasyon, kaya’t hindi na kailangang gumamit ng mamahaling fuel-powered na bomba.

Sa isinagawang huling inspeksyon, kinumpirma ng mga kinatawan mula sa DAR Region XI, NIA, Provincial Agrarian Reform Coordinating Committee (PARCCOM), Barangay Agrarian Reform Committee (BARC) at mga lider ng Irrigators Association (IA) Chairman, at local government officials na handa na ang proyekto at maaari nang gamitin upang magbigay ng pangmatagalang benepisyo sa ARBs at lokal na ekonomiya.

“Ang tagumpay na ito ay isang mahalagang hakbang para sa ating mga ARBs, binibigyan sila ng maaasahang irigasyon habang itinataguyod ang paggamit ng renewable energy sa agrikultura,” ani DAR Davao del Sur Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II (PARPO II) Jupiter S. Arandela, Jr.

Bukod sa pamamahagi ng lupa, patuloy ang suporta ng DAR sa mga ARB sa pamamagitan ng mahahalagang proyekto tulad ng irigasyon, farm-to-market roads, pautang, at makabagong pagsasanay sa pagsasaka. Sa matagumpay na proyektong ito, muling pinagtitibay ng DAR ang layunin nitong mapalakas ang kita ng mga magsasaka at masigurong tuloy-tuloy ang pag-unlad ng mga pamayanang pansakahan sa Kiblawan.
