During the recently concluded Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Caraga’s Employees’ night and PRAISE Awarding Ceremony on September 20, 2024, the Regional Office has launched a heartwarming initiative called “DAR DAMAYAN,” a testament to the department’s unwavering commitment to its personnel’s welfare.

The recent onslaught of typhoons, man-made disasters, and health emergencies, have left many DAR Caraga personnel grappling with loss and hardship. Geared towards gender and development, this initiative aims to provide readily-available donations such as clothes, toiletries, books, and other necessities to personnel affected by calamities and diseases, fostering a sense of solidarity and support within the department.

Regional Director Atty. Merlita S. Capinpuyan led the ceremonial launching, along with OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Administration (ARDA) Joie L. Ceballos, Assistant Regional Director for Operations, Agnes L. Dela Cerna, Bb. Agraryo 2024 Caraga, Lee Monica S. Amper, and the Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officers II.

OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Administration (ARDA) Joie L. Ceballos introducing the initiative’s rationale and objective.

OIC-Assistant Regional Director for Administration (ARDA), Joie L. Ceballos introduced the rationale for this endeavor, “DAR DAMAyan will soon be filled with an array of essential items, from clothes and blankets to books and toiletries, all donated by the DAR Caraga family itself. This initiative exemplifies the spirit of bayanihan, where everyone contributes what they can, no matter how big or small, to uplift those in need.”

And as part of Bb. Agraryo 2024 Caraga Lee Monica S. Amper’s advocacy to uplift women as pillars of the community, she has also contributed in the realization of this movement. She stated, “the impact of “DAR DAMAyan” extends far beyond material donations. It serves as a poignant reminder that even in the darkest of times, the DAR Caraga family stands united, ready to extend a helping hand to those affected by calamities and diseases.  And this is what I would want to be exemplified and witnessed by our farmer beneficiaries, especially to the rural women that DAR cares, and we will not leave anyone behind.”

As the “DAR DAMAyan” initiative continues to grow and evolve, it is poised to become a cornerstone of the DAR Caraga’s commitment to its personnel’s well-being. It is a beacon of hope, illuminating the path towards a more compassionate and resilient future, where no one is left behind in the face of adversity.
