The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Antique turned over the P2.3M Greenhouse with Drip Irrigation facilities to Brgy. Aningalan and Nagbangi in San Remigio, Antique to further increase the local’s food sufficiency efforts, on March 24, 2025.
According to Program Beneficiaries Development Division Chief, Mary June B. Andres, the greenhouse with drip irrigation will enhance the productivity and competitiveness of farmers to produce year-round, high-quality high-value-added agricultural products.
Fresh carrots, lettuce, bell pepper, and cabbage were the first greenhouse crop harvested from the greenhouse that benefited the community and the local consumers in the province at an affordable price.

The greenhouse facilities are part of the Sustainable and Resilient Agrarian Reform Communities project (SuRe ARCs) of DAR which aims to empower local communities by providing additional income, improve farmer practices sing up to date environment friendly-technology, and produce high value crops and vegetables year-round.
Antique Provincial Governor Rhodora J. Cadiao, DAR-Western Visayas Assistant Regional Director (ARD) Anthony P. Arostique, and DAR Antique Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II (PARPO II) Geralyn E. Cañas led the ribbon cutting and transfer of the facilities to Aningalan Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association (AARBA) and Nagbangi I Agrarian Reform Cooperative (NARC).
Governor Cadiao puts emphasis on the proper utilization of the project to achieve food security and in turn would bring steady income for the San Remegionhon farmers.

On behalf of DAR, ARD Anthony Arostique emphasized the project’s significant benefits, highlighting its profound impact on Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) through improved tourism and road connectivity, which will open more opportunities in the future.
He added that Aningalan’s local produce is of first-class quality, comparable to that of well-known agricultural hubs like Baguio. This will help generate higher income for ARBs and enhance their overall living standards.
In his acceptance message, AARBA President Wilson Antonio expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the DAR for the greenhouse and other support facilities given to them. Meanwhile, NARC President Anayn Fernando promised to use the support facility provided to them at no cost as efficiently as possible.
Vice Mayor Jessie Jemar Pama, Municipal Administrator Ruperto Mission Jr, Antique Provincial Agriculturist Dr. Gina B. Jordan, former DILG undersecretary Jonathan D. Tan, and former Caluya Mayor Genevieve L. Reyes were also present to witness the project turnover.
