DAR-Central Visayas resolves 1,126 agrarian legal cases

More than a thousand farmers and their families heaved a sigh of relief as the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in region seven resolved 1,126 agrarian legal cases in the last six months.

Regional Director Luis Bueno reported this during the department’s performance review and planning session held in Tagaytay City on July 24.

Bueno said that of the 922 agrarian legal cases targeted to be solved for the first semester of 2018, DAR has resolved 1,126 agrarian legal cases.

“Most of these cases have been dragging on for years. With the directive of Secretary John Castriciones to streamline legal procedures, we have fast-tracked our legal procedures. We will do our best to help farmers fight for their rights and welfare,” Bueno said.

The DAR’s performance review and planning session is currently being conducted from July 24-27, to resolve and address problems in implementing agrarian reform.
