1st Local Project Management Committee Meeting for 2020 in Region I

The DAR Region I as implementors of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program works for partnership, collaboration, linkaging and cooperation to maximize the provision of support services to the agrarian reform beneficiaries.  One aspect of working together is thru’ the provision of financing for the production and agricultural inputs of the farmers as members of the ARBOs. 

During the conduct of the 1st Local Project Management Committee Meeting for 2020 hosted by DAR Region I at Oasis Country Resort, San Fernando City, La Union on February 11, 2020 with the partner agencies in the implementation of the Agrarian reform Production Credit Program (APCP). These agencies were Land Bank of the Philippines represented Sonny Alegre, manager of La Union Branch and the point person for Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur, Department of Agriculture Region I represented by Milagros de la Rosa and Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation, Region I were represented by Jaime Gomez, a farmer leader of San Fermin Cooperative, Caba, La Union, Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officers (CARPOs) of Field Operations Division of DAR Region I headed by Nenette C. Madriaga, and APCP Point Persons attended the meeting. They discussed the status of credit assistance, the status of loan availment and payment, crop insurance and other issues that affect the ARBOs.  It should be noted that in Region I, there are only 4 past due accounts, 1 of which is scheduled to be fully paid this March or April 2020. 

 It was agreed that the LPMC shall be more active this year and the quarterly meeting shall be hosted by each of the member agency. The next host will be DA.
