The Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office in Bulacan province recently distributed over 40 hectares of agricultural lands to more than 40 agrarian reform beneficiaries, 13 of whom were women.  The distribution took place in its office in Baliwag town.  A total of 33 emancipation patents (EPs) and 22 certificates of land ownership award (CLOAs) were handed out during the event. Distributed farmlands are located in the municipalities of San Miguel, San Rafael, Sta. Maria and Malolos City.

Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer (PARPO) II Geraldine B. Yumul (lower photo, 2nd from left) led the distribution of land titles with PARPO I Marie Louie P. Cabantac, CARPO Isabel S. Azurin of Land Tenure Services Division, MARPO Engr. Elpidio C. Santos of Cluster I, MARPO Perlita C. Quito of Cluster II, MARPO Irene DC. Flores of Cluster IV, and the Caretaker for Cluster V Ms. Rose G. Galang.

Shown below is Felicito Espiritu, Jr., a farmer beneficiary from Dona Remedios Trinidad town, who was awarded with two (2) EP titles.

“Maraming salamat talaga sa Department of Agrarian Reform at natanggap ko na etong aking titulo pagkaraan ng mahabang panahon na paghihintay.  Ito ay isang kayaman para sa akin.  Pagbubutihin ko at tatamnan ang aking sakahan upang makatulong ito hindi lamang sa amin kundi para na rin sa food security ng ating bansa.  Mabuhay po ang DAR", Espiritu said as he expressed his profound gratitude to the Department.

PARPO II Yumul emphasized that the provision of support services will continue even after the distribution of titles.  She also encouraged all awardees to register as members of farmers' organizations for a better access to institutional buyers.  Increased productivity and family income is our ultimate goal, Yumul remarked.
