DAR Guimaras conducts first ever C-Titles Distribution

Proud owners of lands raise their individual CLOS C - Titles high as the first in Guimaras to receive them.

The Department of Agrarian Reform - Guimaras  held its first - Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) Computerized Titles Distribution today, August 23, 2022 to seven (7) farmer beneficiaries of Balcon Melliza, Jordan. This effort was through the leadership of Mr. Manuel A. Velasco, provincial head and Ms. Harrieta Gedalanga, Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer of Jordan.

These C - titles are the product of the SPLIT (Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling) project of DAR and World Bank. The landholdings involved were previously owned by Remedios Villanueva and was registered as a Collective CLOA. In 2021, SPLIT Project took full swing to generate individual titles for the farmer beneficiaries from the collective title.

"Nalipay gid kami nga naka agum sang nauna nga computerized titles diri sa Guimaras. Sa subong, mahambal na gid namun nga kami ang nagapanag iya sang lupa tungod sini nga titulo" said Mrs. Luz Endencio.

DAR officials were also ecstatic to share this historical event with the farmer beneficiaries for receiving their C - Titles. Ms. Gedalanga emphasized to the crowd of the rights and responsibilities of being Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries. She added that these C - Titles are not for sale as the lands given to them through CARP are a living legacy that they can pass to the younger generations. Mr. Abner Masiado, Program Beneficiaries Development Division head, in his message reiterated the benefits of farmer beneficiaries through the different support services of DAR for them and it is a must that they should be members of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBO) to tangibly feel government support through this agency and other instrumentalities.

In this barangay, the registered ARBO is the Balcon Melliza and Maravilla ARBs Association (BMMAA). Through the years, comprehensive support services through trainings and projects have been received by BMMAA and thus, ARBs benefit from them as well.
