DAR Bicol receives 60 motorcycles for Project SPLIT

LEGAZPI CITY— The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Bicol received 60 Honda XR150Ls motorbikes today, January 13. They are intended to speed up the field validation operations for the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) Project.
 
The 60 motorcycles are among the 820 units purchased by DAR for a total of P123 million. Each unit costs P150,000.00.
 
Earlier, 156 units were distributed to the DAR Central Office (2), CAR (25), Ilocos Region (27), Cagayan Valley (52) Cagayan Valley (20), Central Luzon (20), and Central Visayas (30).
 
Other regions are expected to receive the same units soon, including CALABARZON (17), MIMAROPA (22), Western Visayas (108), Eastern Visayas (123), Northern Mindanao (60), Zamboanga Peninsula (65), Davao Region (59), Soccskargen (88), and Caraga Region (62).
 
The SPLIT Project is a World Bank-funded project of the Department of Agrarian Reform. In Bicol, it will involve the partition of 116,663 hectares and about 1.38 million hectares of collective land titles (Collective Certificate of Land Ownership Awards or CCLOA) into individual land titles nationwide.
 
Lands distributed under CCLOAs will be subdivided through the SPLIT project, and famer-beneficiaries who were previously awarded lands under collective ownership will be issued individual land titles.
