Over 1k Central Luzon Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Receive Land Titles From DAR
Palayan City, Nueva Ecija. DAR Central Luzon under the stewardship of Regional Director James Arsenio Ponce, CESO III, and Assistant Regional Director Atty. Odgie Cayabyab distributed 1,073 regular land titles and e-titles covering 1,170 hectares of agricultural land to the beneficiaries of agrarian reform in the region.
Director Ponce reported that 1,053 agrarian reform beneficiaries or ARBs received their individual land titles in a simple and a well-organized ceremony here.
RD Ponce was likewise heard as saying that "the distribution of land titles, among others, will not become a reality without the full cooperation and support of the men and women of DAR Central Luzon especially the Nueva Ecija Provincial Office under the leadeship of PARPO II Eden Ponio".
During the ceremony, over P100-million worth of approved loan packages by the Landbank were likewise awarded to deserving agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations or ARBOs in Central Luzon.
Farm machineries and equipment worth over P4-million were also turned over to ARBOs of Nueva Ecija province, Director Ponce added.
DAR Secretary Conrado Estrella III, Usec for Field Operations Atty. Kazel Celeste, Senator Imee Marcos, Senator Francis Tolentino and local government officials of Nueva Ecija were also present to personally hand out the land titles and other support services packages to the ARBs.
"We are here to bring government closer to the people of Central Luzon", Secretary Estrella was quoted as saying.
Before the ceremony, Secretary Estrella also led the capsule-laying of the more than one-kilometer farm-to-market road in Barangay Caballero, Guimba town.
The P13-million road project will ease the burden of hauling farm produce to market centers in the town. Over 400 farmers in Barangays Caballero and nearby Sta. Cruz will directly benefit from the project. (albert sapnu, RIO)
