50 agrarian beneficiaries receive individual land titles during first Bagong Pilipinas serbisyo fair

House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez led in the distribution of government assistance during the opening of the two-day Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair.

          NAVAL, Biliran – A total of 50 agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) from six municipalities in this province received on Saturday, August 26 this year, their individual Certificates of Land Ownership Award (CLOAs) from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) as the said government agency joined the first ever “Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair” held at the Biliran Province State University (BiPSU).

          Two agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBOs) from this town also received farm implements from DAR on the same occasion.

          House Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, the event’s keynote speaker, led in the distribution of various assistance from the different participating government agencies.

          In the distribution of the 53 electronically-generated land titles under the World Bank-funded Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (SPLIT) project and the turnover of farm machineries and equipment amounting to more than ₱800,000, Romualdez was assisted by DAR Eastern Visayas Regional Director, Robert Anthony Yu; Biliran lone district Representative, Gerardo Espina Jr.; Tingog Party List Representative, Jude Acidre; and Biliran Governor, Gerard Roger Espina.

          Yu disclosed that the 53 e-CLOAs covered an aggregate area of 44.2434 hectares of farm lands situated in the municipalities of Naval, Cabucgayan, Culaba, Biliran, Kawayan and Almeria.

          With the individual titles now in their possession, ARBs are assured of security of tenure and strengthened property rights over their awarded lands, while the local government units’ tax collections are expected to increase, Yu said.

          For the farm machineries and equipment, the Villa Caneja Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association (VCARBA) received three mini-hand tractors and three mini-threshers, while the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association of Lucso-on (ARBLuc) received a hand tractor, two grass cutters and a pressure wash, Yu added.

          Romualdez in his message shared, “Hinamon tayo ni Pangulong Ferdinand Romualdez Marcos Jr. na pabilisin ang paghahatid ng serbisyo ng gobyerno sa bawat sulok ng bansa. At bilang tugon dito, naisipan namin maglunsad ng Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair.”

          He also expressed gratitude to the different government agencies for supporting this activity, bringing the government closer to the people.

          Meanwhile, Congressman Espina Jr. disclosed that more than 26,000 individuals coming from the eight municipalities in this province will benefit from about 50 programs extended by the 33 government agencies during the two-day event.

          Governor Espina on the other hand thanked the government for choosing his province as the first venue for the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair.

          Meanwhile, Marly Sabiron, 62 and a mother of four from Cabucgayan town, thanked the President, Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III and the local DAR officials for the individual CLOAs they received on that occasion.

          Sabiron was awarded two e-CLOAs covering a combined area of 0.75 hectare coco land.

          Eddie Alarde, the president of the ARBALuc, likewise thanked the President, DAR Secretary Estrella, and the local DAR officials for the farm machineries they received. ###
