DAR NV GIVES TRUCKS TO VILLAVERDE, BAMBANG COOPS UNDER EPAHP PROJECT

The Department of Agrarian Reform- Nueva Vizcaya, under the leadership of Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer (PARPO) II Rustico R. Turingan, awarded two small delivery trucks worth P570,000.00 to Greeners Multi-purpose Cooperative in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya and Villaverde Development Cooperative (VILDECO) in Villaverde, Nueva Vizcaya.

The project, according to PARPO II Turingan, is part of the government's Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP), which aims to intensify the fight against hunger and reduce poverty across the country. It also seeks to collaborate with various government and private organizations in order to provide and extend direct marketing connections and access for Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organization (ARBO) to purchase their products directly.

The provision of a small delivery vehicle, will contribute to the cooperative's marketing mechanism and, as a result, address the problem they face in marketing their farm produce, allowing them to sustain their enterprise operation and reap increased economic benefits not only for the cooperative, but also for the farming community in the area, “ he said.

This small delivery truck is expected to benefit 60 smallholder farmers.

The ARBO will assist farmer-members in marketing their produce to walk-in buyers and will continue to supply institutional buyers for this project.

The activity was also attended by Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer for PBDD Edwin C. Algeria, OIC-MARPO Marites Jallorina, EPAHP Point Person Noemi Anuma, ARPO I ROmelyn S. Yap, ARPT Dhiana Marie Dela Cruz and from BJMP Solano Jsupt. Crispin m. Dornagon Jr. and SPO1 Peter Delizo.
