109 FARMERS AND FORMER REBELS RECEIVE LAND TITLES

As part of the celebration of the 34th year of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program and 50th year of Presidential Decree No. 27, DAR Nueva Vizcaya awarded 109 Certificate of Land Ownership Award (CLOA) titles to farmers and former rebels(FR) on June 15, 2022 at Nueva Vizcaya Police Provincial Office Covered Court, Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya. 

According to Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Engr. Rustico Turingan, the CLOA titles consist of 109 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) covering a total area of 93.7958 hectares located at Dupax del Sur, Dupax del Norte and Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya. 20 of the recipients are former rebels who received a total area of 10 hectares located at Sitio Montanibong, Brgy. Baretbet, Bagabag, Nueva Vizcaya.. 

“One of the primordial task of the DAR as a regular member of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) or the Executive Order No. 70 is to allocate agricultural lands to former rebels. I would like to congratulate all the beneficiaries of this CLOA distribution. It is indeed a blessing having your own land titles. The 89 qualified ARBs and the 20 FRs are now officially beneficiaries of the DAR and may this titles serve as a life changing benefit and start a new normal life together with your families” PARPO II Turingan said. 

During the activity, OIC Municipal Agrarian Reform Program Officer John Daryl L. Yacapin oriented the new ARBs of their rights, roles and responsibilities.

Also, Provincial Social Welfare and Development (PSWD) showcased their programs and projects that the FR and farmers may avail. 

Hindi na mga baril ang hawak niyo, kundi mga titulo na ng lupa. The president and the national government will continue to support and give assistance to former rebels in order to end insurgency and communism in the country.” Assistant Regional Director Alfredo Lorenzo said during his inspirational message. 

The beneficiaries expressed their endless appreciation and gratitude to the officers and staff of the department for their dedicated effort and commitment in serving the farmers and other stakeholders. 

This activity was made possible through the leadership and support of DAR Secretary Bernie F. Cruz and DAR Region II Regional Director Samuel S. Solomero.

Governor Carlos M. Padilla, ROD Registrar Atty. Maria Niña Melva Quinto, PSWD Social Welfare Worker Ms. Jesusa P. Dyte also graced the occasion.
