DAR, PRC collect 14 bags of blood in bloodletting

DAR Eastern Visayas employees donate blood.

With the theme “Give blood, give plasma, share life, share often,” the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR)  and the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) Leyte Chapter joined forces in conducting a bloodletting activity at the DAR Regional Office in Tacloban City.

Doctor Arden Rama, who headed the PRC team in this activity held on Thursday, January 25, disclosed that a total of 14 blood bags were collected from DAR employees and other walk-in blood donors.

According to him, all the collected blood bags will be stored in our blood banks and will be given to patients in need of blood, especially in our hospitals.

“I would like to thank DAR Eastern Visayas for inviting us” he added.

Robert Anthony Yu, DAR Eastern Visayas Regional Director, stated the importance of voluntary blood donation, “It's not simply about helping those in need. It also improves your physical well-being”.

He also extends his gratitude to the PRC team for conducting this yearly activity as DAR Eastern Visayas promotes not just the welfare of its employees, but also that of the community.

This activity is facilitated by the DAR’s Gender and Development (GAD) point person, Carlo Casillar. (ARVIN S. CADIGOY)
