DAR AND CDA COLLABORATE TO ENHANCE COOPERATIVE REGISTRATION FOR ASSISTED ARBOs

Iloilo City – Working hand-in-hand to enhance the welfare of agrarian reform cooperatives, DAR Iloilo partners with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), through its Region VI Extension Office, to conduct an orientation workshop for Program Beneficiaries Development (PBD) personnel on the electronic-coop registration information system (E-coop RIS) and cooperative assessment information system (CAIS) on February 24, 2024, in the DAR Iloilo Provincial Office.

Ms. Myla F. Jurao, Cooperative Development Specialist II, and Mr. Mark Jerald S. Sadsad of CDA led the orientation workshop. The participants, composed of  development facilitators (DF) assisting the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs) in different municipalities in the province, learned key skills for efficient ARB organization processing and validation for cooperative registration, meeting CDA standards. They also received training on using E-coop RIS and CAIS through demonstrations and knowledge-sharing sessions.

In her message, Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II, Harriet A. Loot, reminded the PBD personnel of the critical role of DAR in transforming ARB organizations to become enterprising and improve their quality of life. “We hope that through this training we will be able to assist our ARBs and ARBOs in their endeavors and create an impact in their lives,” PARPO Loot said.

PBDD Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer Celina C. Candoleta stressed the value of collaboration in enhancing the lives and income of ARBs. She emphasized that by working together, we could elevate the quality of life and income of ARBs. Candoleta further  emphasized the importance of cooperatives as a transformative force, empowering individuals and playing a crucial role in the nation's economy. “Engaging ARBs in cooperatives not only empowers individuals but also contributes significantly to the successful operation of their cooperatives” she said.

The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) plays a supportive role in assisting ARBOs in their transformation into sustainable cooperatives. By partnering with CDA under the shared mission of 'Empowering Cooperatives, Empowering the Filipino People,' DAR creates a synergistic environment that uplifts the lives of agrarian reform beneficiaries and promotes cooperative growth, contributing to the overall development and empowerment of the community.
